Well since the game is down I figured I'd ask this question. What is the Borg Bridge officer. Is it a Eng. Tact. or Sci. officer? or do we get to choose?

By the sound of it, seems like the liberated borg bridge officer is an engineer.

I figured the same thing. it would be nice if I could just get confirmation on that. I knew all the other stuff. I know I won't get her (I'm assuming it's a chick from the pics) till launch....actually probably later since amazon is shipping it through standard shipping.

I don't think the Borg will take an actual ship BO slot, however I do believe you can assign the Borg to your standard to your away team.

The devs have confirmed this here and there on the forums. I don't think there's ONE single post with all the data, but:-
The Borg Bridge Officer is an Engineer. Her abilities are as described above. Note that Reroute Power to Shields III and Aceton Field III aren't available to normal BOs - those are rare drop stuff.
She is always female. On the Federation side, she will be a customisable human with optional Borg parts. On the Klingon side, she is a customisable Klingon with optional Borg parts.

They actually said she will NOT be customizable...
EDIT: OOps, nevermind, they have updated the FAQ since I last read it. Yay for customization!

I was going by the picture of the Bridge View that Cryptic posted. She isn't at a station, but standing next to the Captain in the command chair.
If you have been to the bridge of your ship, all your assigned officers are in their station seats, however the Cryptic image shows her standing next to the captain.. unless that is just advertisement artwork.. if that is the case, I stand corrected.

the officers are in static locations. yo ucan only have x officers, and they are placed in those locations, dosent matter if there assigned or not (You cna have 4 on yoru starter ship, you should see all 4 on your bridge despite only having 3 active slots)
so prehaps the borg is in addition to the standard x and thus is placed by your chair

Yeah, that's a pretty big leap. I'd guess that was just a promo shot they set up.

Are you sure? I think you checked the standard edition of Star Trek Online, if so, only the Collector's Edition comes with the Borg Bridge Officer.

Amazon has run out of the Standard Edition ST:O with the borg bridge officer, so now there's only the Collector's Edition left that gives the bonus. Although if you don't mind foreign languages, last time I checked Amazon.de still had Standard Editions with the borg BO.

even according to STO retail page, it did not list the collectors amazon version as the one giving you a borg bo. as well as US amazon page stating on the standard version that a Borg BO was included as a preorder. where did you receive information that it was not included? collectors addition in general have similar bonus items, as well as deluxe version from multiple online download sites; they have similar bonus items as well.

Furthermore, quoted from STO official FAQ on retail exclusives:
Q: Do I get my retailer bonus if I purchase a Collector's Edition instead of a standard edition of STO from the same retailer?
A: Absolutely. Anything sold by a retailer includes its retail bonus... i.e. Any STO product sold by GameStop includes the Constitution class ship, be that product Digital, Digital Deluxe, Box Standard, or Box Collector's Edition.

"Additionally you'll receive an Amazon.com exclusive Borg Bridge Officer. Borg officer codes will be located inside the game box."
Direct quote from the Standard edition order page from Amazon.
So stop fussing about having the code e-mailed to you, it won't be, however, the pre-order code to get in on the head start should have been e-mailed to you, if it wasn't, Amazon will not remedy the solution, all they will do is give you the run-around between merketing and custimer service, but, if you send off an e-mail to cryptic informing them that you pre-ordered with Amazon, your order number, and your account name, they will make the appropriate changes to your account without much fuss.

I have an E-mail from Amazon UK and there's post from yesterday by an Amazon UK customer services rep on the discussion page of the STO orders - both are unambiguous and state clearly that the codes for the Borg BOff will be E-mailed on Feb 5th (EU release date) and if you don't get it by that date to contact Amazon UK CS and they'll sort it out.
Maybe Amazon US is different, but I expect to get my Borg BOff code in the my E-mailbox on 5th Feb as I ordered form Amazon UK.
I thank you.

Get her from the C-store, then double click her in your inventory, and then use her from assignments like all other BOs.

Yeah it did, you had to pre-order. I got the standard from Amazon and got a Borg BO. I didn't want the Collectors since I already had the Atari DDE.
