View Full Version : Fleet Bank Tab prices - too high

I couldn't think of where to put this.
Basically, the first new fleet bank tab is over 1.2 million energy credits? It'll take twelve people making 100k credits and putting those in to the fleet bank. This is ludicrously high. I know you want money sinks, Cryptic, but thats ridiculous.
I can understand maybe the fourth or fifth tab being so high. But the first?!
Reduce the prices please.

I disagree. Inflation was very apparent in beta, and even with the unofficial ways some people were bringing energy credits into the market I feel it may be a serious problem. The game needs all the gold sinks it can find.

Indeed. I'm assuming this is a bug, actually. And not working as intended.
Hopefully if shall be fixed before the end of headstart.

It's obviously a bug. They used to be 1000 credits a shot.

It definitely seems high for the first tab. We've got over 20 members in our fleet, and it would definitely be tough for us to afford one of those right now. If this is how Cryptic intended it, though, then it forces a fleet to work towards specific goals to help the entire fleet, which may be a possible reason for the high price.

I could see the next tab being exponentially more, and so on for each tab. But the first tab? Ridiculous. We'd have to bankrupt our members to afford the first tab.

I agree with gold sinks, but only if they are progressive.
I would like to see the first extra tab's cost be in the 10,000 - 100,000 range. And each successive tab progressively more expensive.
Last tab costing in the million range is fine to me, but not the first.

Gold sinks are exactly what are required to help a fake economy. You have to take money out of the economy at a rate proportional to the speed at which gold is brought into the economy. Gold sinks of this nature aren't a perfect answer, but they help. A better solution would be a sustainable gold sink (something you pay more than once) but a game still needs all the gold sinks they can get.

Agreed. I was stunned when I saw the cost. It doesn't seem right.

Gold Sinks are ok but the first tab should be next to nothing for 2 reasons:
1- There isn't enough freaking slots
2- We just freaking started and we need those slots to provide items for members of our FLEET
While I am at it....FIX THE CONTROLS!!!!! I should be able to give each rank permissions for deposit/withdrawal of not just the credits BUT THE ITEMS also! What kind of idiotic interface would not allow that?
GAH! Love the game but little things like this should never have happened. I know you are in direct competition with WOW but they are successful for a reason. Learn from it!

Gold Sinks are ok but the first tab should be next to nothing for 2 reasons:

If the economy is out of balance so people can sell credits like I've seen too many spammers do, then that is the problem that needs to be attended to. It has nothing to do with that the price for the fleet bank tabs are ridiculous.

In fact it'll only encourage the kind of player response as that'll be the only reasonable way to buy bank tabs.

Add 4th Fleet to the list of consumers that want the cost of fleet tabs DOWN! 1.2 million for the first tab is ridiculous. I can only imagine how much the next ones will be. Pooling money together we have about 600K right now and are almost ready for the tab. But I'm holding back to see if this is fixed.

I thought the cost was high, but we got enough for a second one in less than two days, and unlike other games it looks like the cost is the same for the rest of the tabs. This is a non-issue in the end really. Small fleets don't need big banks right away anyway, so they have plenty of time to get the credits together.

Our Fleet is on our way to our 3rd tab. I believe that the prices are fine it only looks like alot cause your most likely only LC or Cap. The game needs a way to take credits away other wise the game economy will inflate.

1.2 million? Fine for 160 member fleets, but how does that small bank tab server 160 people? And what of the smaller fleets? Nah, this is total bs. Price of the first tab should be $10-25k. Some of us do not desire to put up with the spam of 100+ people in fleet chat, let alone the management issues. There are alot of issues with the game, but they are working on them. I fully expect the pricing to change, but it's not high priority.

I just got word from a Cryptic Rep over the #STO IRC that yes the tab price is really high and they will be changing it at a later date to a system where the price goes up for each consecutive tab that you purchase. At this point, we just have to endure.

I wonder what the time is on this. I'd hate to spend millions (when we could be saving for other things) and it be changed shortly thereafter.

it's been out what 6 days. of course that much money is a lot now. come back in a month or two and you'll say it's nothing.

Way to few slots in Tab one. Any size fleet needs more slots and/or more tabs immediately. With the way the permissions are set up you can't limit the number of items to withdrawn from the tab. The first tab can be a general drop off point so new members can get some lower level items to assist them. The second tab needs to be where people can get the really nice stuff and dish it out as needed.

assuming it is class'd as 'high'
they change it to say 500k.. (i make that a day, easily, and im not even captain)
but add a ramp up cost for each additional tab
so 500k - 1mill - 2mill - 4mill etc
whats worse? that or
1.2mill - 1.2mill - 1.2mill - 1.2mill :D
i know which one i would take :P

The first tab should not be that expensive maybe 100,000 but not over 1.2 million.

How about:
100k - 200k - 400k - 800k - 1.6mil - 3.2mil - 6.4mil
It might be more than 1.2 mil each... but as I increase and the members of my fleet, we wouldn't notice the end increases. But we could fund the first 4 extra tabs with little trouble.
