I am creating joined Trill character and I'm in doubt what traits to take, there are two options that bothers me for space PvP character.
1st - Accurate and elusive or
2nd - Astrophysicist and Warp theorie

If you are going to play an escort you can pick Accurate and Ellusive (10% bonus to accuracy and evasion) and 2 other space traits. Warp Theory gives a power boost to your core and Efficient gives you +5 to a number of important stats.
Anything else and you can just pick the other 4 space traits left (other than Accurate and Ellusive).
The traits are not game breaking. A good PvPer could not pick any and still have good success. Ground PvP traits are a bit different, but you can make that up with Kits I heard. I'm not a Ground PvP guy, but you will probably have to roll an alt to do Ground PvP (another story and another can of worms I won't open).
In any case, a 10% bonus to accuracy and evasion is not a bad thing. Neither is Warp Core Theory (more power, mmm...) You might want to slip a Ground Combat ability in there. Up to you.
It's early, not many people, even Beta people know exactly what does what really (in specific cases).
For instance, putting skill points into any Cruiser will help the next Tier Cruiser. But that information isn't available yet on the skill tree. It gives the impression that skilling a particular type of Cruiser will only help THAT Cruiser. So keep reading the forums and pressing Cryptic to be, uhm, less Cryptic :D
