Caitians!!

Caitians absolutely must be the next playable Federation species. They were present in the animated series and some of the movies, and the writers for Enterprise planned to bring them back in Season 5 of that series (along with the related Kzinti) before it was canceled.

STO can now do what Enterprise was unable to, to resurrect a long-established Federation species that has been neglected for many years due to budget considerations. Caitians would be a perfect addition to the playable Federation races, in my opinion. If we get Tellarites before Caitians, I'll be severely disappointed.

When I was going through the premade unknown races .. there was a SORT of Caitian look. I think random 5? Though I dunno if it will be the same if I do it again.

One of the premade variations for alien females (I think 4) makes a passable Caitian, but you can't really get the same effect in males because, as in the images above, they have a great deal of facial hair. Maybe all it really needs is some new head parts to make it work?

it doesn't seem like it would take a lot of effort to get Caitians into the game. As a modeler, I think I could do it myself in a matter of days.

They predate the kilrathi by a good 2 decades or so. Nice try though.


Anyway OP, the lead character artist already said they are going to be added, specifically shortly after launch along with the Tellerites. Expect to be nickle and dimed for them, however.

If you don't like seeing a thread, no one's forcing you to read it. I'm sure there are a lot of new members on this forum who haven't had the benefit of your countless hours spent contributing to it, who might want to read and post to a thread like this. If it annoys you, look away.

From the previous threads, I see that there is indeed a lot of demand for this race, and I'm glad the devs have apparently decided to add it.
