Promoting Stations
 

So I just noticed today that the stations have ranks. So what's the point of promoting my officers if I can't promote the station? I feel like I have been wasting a lot of bridge officer points for abilities I can't use. Is there a way to "promote" a station from Ensign? We really should have a way to upgrade the stations.

they upgrade along with the ship. but the type of ship will depend on which ones you go up and how far. in a T3 cruiser. you get one Lt tactical. one ensign Engi, one Lt commander Engi, and one Lt science. for example.

On ground you seem to get all the promoted abilities of your team at least

Once your skill tree has started filling out and you have progressed through to what people are calling "end game" you'll have access to a wider variety of ships, you may even be switching between Science, Cruisers and Tactical ships. That means you'll need a Bridge Officer team to suit whatever boat your in at the time. Hence the ability to train everyone to do everything or the ability to have sp[ecialized officers.
