Bridge Officer Award Bug - Still Broken
 

Today yet again I have been victimized by the Bridge Officer bug. When you are shown what BO you are being awarded for a given mission, you can look at their powers and stats. If you don't like it you can close the window and open it up again, and the next time they will have different stats, since it randomizes whenever you look. So, players can go back and forth to find what they want, then accept the reward. BUT THE PROBLEM IS THAT WHEN YOU ACTUALLY GET THE BO, THEN YOU DON'T ACTUALLY GET THE ONE THAT IT SHOWED 5 SECONDS PRIOR. Instead you just get a randomized one that's different.

While this mechanic is somewhat unpleasant, the actual bug is most likely not the changing of abilities between selecting the BO and the BO appearing in your assignments tab, but rather the fact that they change at all.

My guess is they were never meant to change in the "look at them and if you don't like it try again" manner. Which version would be preferable in the end is a different topic but I wouldn't expect a patch/fix to fully enable the "look and retry if you want" concept.

Pretty much all of my BO's have lied on their resumes. Can only wonder at the honesty of Starfleet candidates these days. :D

Seriously! I had a BO that said he knew Reverse Shield Polarity III, when I commissioned him he promptly replied, "You'll sure love my Aceton Field III next time we're on the ground!". We promptly had an air lock "accident" shortly afterwards..
