Is this wrong?

Alright, so my room mate chris and I are working on our newest video. I can't say what it is yet, but we are building a large spacecraft. I designed the ship itself, and we began construction of it over the weekend.
We are doing really well, and chris asked me
"what are these parts for, and how should i have them wired to the main engine"
I looked at him and said "those are the 4 impulse engines, wire them to the main battery we are using for the main engine."
The ******* looked at me and said "What the f*** is an impulse engine"
I instinctivly hit him over the head with the tripod...He fell to the ground, and seemed rather annoyed...and sore.

Now does anyone else agree with me that there is something wrong with you if you don't know what an impulse engine is. or did i over react?

It was not an overreaction. He should have known about impulse physics.

So what is an impulse engine, anyway?

For centuries, tripod beatings have been the standard method of punishment for those who were not familiar with impulse physics.

You did the right thing.

Wait, why are you friends with someone who doesn't know about impulse engines?
:D

That's what I was asking myself.

Although I must admit that only Star Trek refers to slower-than-light engines as Impulse engines... so... if he's not a Physics Geek and not a Star Trek Fan, I think it's an overreaction. Actually I think hitting someone with a tri-pod is easily an overreaction, then again we're not allowed to carry guns... (don't know what that has to do with anything)

I don't think you overreacted with the impulse to whack him at his lack of knowledge about impulse drives.....

And...

He said Roommate....

Roommates are not always your best friend. :D

Personally I think a tripod to the kidneys would have been more appropriate. Nothing says "I've learned an important lesson" like urinating blood. :p
