Help with 360 Controller - losing target

So I've been playing with my 360 controller and really enjoying it. I am just having one problem. Whenever I hit the RB or LB buttons (i use them in conjunction with the other buttons eg RB+Ab) I lose my target and it selects a different target. It is probably coded into the game to act that way in default, but is there a way to stop it?

Perhaps you could be more clear as to what those buttons are directly bound to. Sounds like it's acting like the tab key.

yes it is.... the buttons are assigned more or less as a modifier... they should only be working in conjunction with other buttons to in order to utilize my control bars.

In essence, hitting them alone should do nothing, but they act as tab keys

I think i figured it out... we'll see soon... there was a file called ent-keybinds.txt that pointed to the buttons for targeting... i don't know where it came from since my binds are called Space.ini

I've deleted it and will try it out now.

hmm does the 360 controller work for sto on its own or are you using an external prog to simulate a key press

it doesn't work completely unless you bind the buttons manually which can be done in game... however some buttons did work for certain actions without having to bind anything.

Found a fix: i edited my bind file to say RB "null" LB "null" fixed the switiching target on me
