Farming Starfleet Merits
 

I'm curious if anyone has any handy advice or tips for collecting as many Starfleet Merits as quickly and painlessly as possible. The only suggestions I've been given so far is repeating Defend the Sector Block missions; they do give a large chunk of merits-- it does seem sound advice. But I'd like anyone else to offer their opinions before I potentially waste hours of my time when there's a faster method.

If anyone is curious why I'm asking... I'm out of respec tokens and down some 10k merits from being able to change my spec. Thanks in advance.

Not tried this one myself but read about a guy who made a macro that kept his ship fighting on autopilot in a DSE all night, every night :) effortless way to build up merit!

Must really suck for other players though... Having a blind-deaf ship flying around shooting at random enemies :D

pvp is the single best way to far, bo points, skill points, merrit, and energy credits. aside from that, lots of exploration missions will do the trick too.

sell stuff on exchange. if you only need a certain amount ask your fleet if you can have the amount from thier fleet bank.

The exchange is credits, not merits.
