C-Store request: Expanded NCC range?

I would love to be able to purchase a lower five-digit NCC number than 91002 or even a four-digit number, to go with my suffix letters.

Can you guys make it happen?

I would second this, but I don't think it's going to happen. I believe they have stated that CBS made them start registries with '9'.

You don't actually have to start with a 9 you know?

If you notice the range goes from something like
90000
to
900000
Which means that
123456 is in the valid range.

Correct.

This was done to prevent people from using canon ship registration numbers. It was easier to block all the numbers NX/NCC 01 - NX/NCC 89999 than a whole bunch of canon numbers i.e., 1701, 2000, 74205, 74656 and so forth.

2 thumbs up on NCC number would like to see 4 digit starting in 1900

Extremely unlikely.

Cryptic would have major difficulty dealing with folks taking numbers from canon. Its not just a case of folks taking the Enterprise, its about ALL registries in Star Trek. I presume CBS wants to make sure that any future Star Trek games / movies / series etc. wont end up with problems because STO players are using registries within that range.

That said, I think it MIGHT be more interesting if Cryptic AWARDED unique registries within the four digit range.
It would have to be exceptionally rare so I'm thinking game events / tournaments where the top scorer(s) get issued with a single registry number they can use on any of their ship.

Yeah, I don't think they are going to do this.

Though they may add MORE numbers to the mix?

Really, why the want for 4 digits? I don't think the game needs two 1701s or two 74656s. And that is what would happen, wouldn't it?

If you want a four digit number in your registry, then try 9abcd9 OR 1abcd1 (Where abcd are your four digits.)

Otherwise, nah. No need for the lesser numbers, since there are ships that are using those numbers already. Really, they should limit the numbers even more. (My opinion) Make those the unique moniker for ships. But, since you never really see the numbers...meh...

If we look at it in a manner of time wise, by the mid- to late- 24th century, registrations numbers were alread above 74xxx (based on Voyager's 74656. That and I have no knowledge of a higher number as of now). In all terms speaking, 91002-999999 registration range seems about on par for the early 25th century, despite the somewhat high range of the 6-digit numbers for the game setting.

The only way, IMO, of actually seeing 4-digit numbers would probably be NPC ships, which I have seen one, with a -A on the end of, here. I know it's a bit hard to see, but the number is NCC-1700-A U.S.S. Constitution.

I'd like to see an expansion on the "U.S.S.". Things like "H.M.S.", "S.S." or the option to omit it entirely (like the NX-01) would be nice, but they should be pretty pricey so we don't see too many of them.

The NX designation is already in the C-Store. I believe it is 80 CP.
