Multi Vector Assault Mode
 
On the retrofit of the Prometheus i think it would be good to include the Multi Vector Assault mode as seen in Vovager. It would most probably make it a favorite for most Captains but i would love to see it in action!

Please post you views based on Advantages and Disadvantages of adding this feature

since they have gotten saucer seperation working for the galaxy retrofit, i think that means they can get it working once they get the animations for the three seperate parts all done, but that might take a while.

MVAM would be a quite cool feature to have, except I struggle to see how it would actually be useful. You are splitting your ship in three, making one already quite weak target into three even weaker ones. Not to mention two parts would be completely useless drones which seem to like hanging around mines and exploding ships. Another problem would be the fact you would need three warp cores and so when you split up the ship you would only get 1/3 the power levels. All that crap about increasing surface area of the ship just doesn't hold true either...space on the surface of the ship to fit beam arrays and torps has much less impact than...say...the internal volume of the ship.

It would be a fun skill to use, but all the things you would give up would make it near as damned, useless. The ship already has a great turn rate and great firepower. Why fix it if it aint broke? I would much rather they increased the stealth detection rating of this ship (perhaps by a factor of 1.5 or so.), seeing as it is the most sciency escort and has less hull than the fleet escort.

I love the ship to bits, but there would be things I would rather see. Just because it's canon doesn't mean you HAVE to use it. The Prometheus was a prototype after all.
