Please give us the K'vort!

There has been many posts and comments about the K'vort its an iconic klingon cruiser and is is seen countelss times in TNG and DS9, and I think its time to have its place in STO aswell...

I suggest that we have the K'vort as a kind of retrofit at max level, a cross between a BoP and a Cruiser, a Tactical Light Cruiser would fit it best IMO...

As im a dreamer i've number crunched a bit and come up with a nice set of stats for the beast that I think are fair to both sides of the fence Klingon and Federation :)

*****

K'vort Tactical Light Cruiser
(Lieutenant General)

Impulse Modifier: 0.20
Turn Rate: 12 deg/sec
Inertia: 40
Crew: 250
Hull: 35000
Weapons: 4 Forward, 2 Rear
Consoles: 2 Eng, 3 Sci, 4 Tac
Devices: 2

Bridge Officers: 2x Lieutenant Sci, 1x Sergeant Eng, 1x Commander Tac

Special Abilities: Battle Cloak

*****

Well thats my idea, discuss, flame, etc...

Yeah, i'm the same opinion.
I miss this Class of Ship with his cool angled wings.
But i think, it must be a T5 Ship with 5 BO Slots.

No.

no ships with cruiser tanking and hp should get battle cloak.

What are we going to do about the Romulans?

Congratulations

By making such a detailed suggestion you just made sure a K'Vort, if it comes, would be unable to have those exact values.

It has to do with copyright laws and origin of idea and such..

Plagiatrism, theft of ideas..

And so on..

That actually depends on if the source for the stats are contained within the Cryptic copyright agreement with CBS or not. For instance many of the books are in that agreement, hence the use of the Luna a non-canon class of ship only seen and described in soft-canon.

As the above suggestion I believe takes stats from one of the technical manuals. Any suggestions about abilities really don't fit within the copyright domain as they are making use of already established Cryptic ideas.

Good idea

I just looked this up and it says the K'vort class has a crew of 1500????

Thats one big BoP!

well, no loss there for reals.

As for romulans:

Romulan warbirds NEVER, EVER cloaked under fire.

The idea that they SHOULD just because they are romulans is asinine.

Warbirds should be heavy warships with a sweet science suite.

Together with some new science powers, and new powers should come at some point, this might make a nice switch from the usual ships we get.

Klinks and feds kinda are same wamey overall - cruisers have engi focus etc etc.

A warbird should be a bulky, a bit sowy handling weapon that strikes fro ma position of superiority: engineered by attacking from cloak and doing nasty sciency stuff to the fed nerds and klink brutes.

Then you get ships like the norexan, also known as valdore: the romulan ships from nemesis who are in sto under the name mogai.

You could give them subpar escort stats, battlecloak, lt com sci, com tactic, lt engineering, ens universal..

Then all those in betweens and stat copys of the other faction of course.

But again: no battlecloakc fo a major tanking capable ship.

Heck, bop can use it well enough if the captain isn't some half assed moron - imagining what a competent cruiser can do with it is TERRIFYING.

Imagine a vorcha with battlecloack... yeah. like that.

There is no canon source telling the crew amount on the K'vort.

1500 is too much, and any sane trek viewer would know that given that the Galaxy class, the luxury liner in ST, was not geared to take more than ~5000 under maximum strain. And if you look at those ships: most of the k vort is wing. thin wing. or disruptor cannons. huge disruptor cannons.

they stuff crew into the barrels now?

I'd say leave this specific ability to them.
