Warp & Impulse Engine Trails

This si the 2nd time ive posted this therad because i can never find it again... there should be a button/link that allows us to find previous posts our accounts have made. Anyways!

The warp/impulse trails look pretty and awesome and all but do other not agree with me that it would be better looking for the warp trails ONLY to show in warp and the impules engine trails ONLY when out of warp?

<(O.o)>

I agree wholeheartedly.

Also: click on the search bar at the top, use "Advanced Search".

Search by Poster: "Threads Started by" or "Posts from" searching yourself.

Yeah this has been suggested a few times, but it's always worth another shot. :D

Well, actually it is canon that ship maintain stable Warp Bubbles even when out of warp (just in case they need to go to Warp on short notice), but the point is that the Warp engines are not responsible for the motion of the ship at sublight, and should not, therefore, generate a Warp Trail.

But I get what you mean ;)

Id rather no engine trails at all, they just look cartoony and awkward. The particle movement around my ship should tell me how fast im going.

Well there are ways to achieve that - and indeed it does change your perception of the game.

... now the next thing to take care of are these uberhuge loot drop models ... :D

I would really like to see this as well. It looks nice, but at the very least it would be nice if we had an option to switch it off.

Agreed. Warp Drive should have it's own trail, even longer when at high-warp and brighter as the ship accelerates. However, the impulse drive shouldn't have a trail--period. The Impulse Drive, itself, should just get brighter depending on the ship's sub-light speed.
