Getting old Trek Games to work

Hey,

I just dug up two of my favorite Trek titles of old, Away Team and Armada II.
I'm running Vista 32 bit with the latest service pack and I just can't get either of these titles installed again! I used to be able to install them on the system but no more!

Does anyone have any insight as to how I can get them to install. So far I can launch the installer, but it does not fully launch itself so to speak and I can not proceed with the install. I have tried running the setup.exe in compatibility mode for xp and 98/ME, under administrator. I just can't get the install wizard to even appear past the initial load of the title screen coming up.

Anyway, thanks for your time.

Would be great to get back to these games.

This is my suggestion, not the one you want, but it will work.

Buy an old system, like from craigslist or a local pc shop, install the recommended
operating system and you'll be rockin some ST games.

i kept 2 pc systems, with pentium 3's and maxed out ram and good graphics cards
and i can revisit the old ST games if i ever get the urge.

i always loved Armada over Armada2, like the overall graphic look better.
Armada2 always looked like it was fuzzy and out of focus, where Armada had
a refined sharp detail to everything in it.

good luck

Armada II works fine for me running it under compatibility for Windows XP SP3. If you can't get the autorun to work, try running the Setup.exe directly. Alternatively, you might be able to just copy the files directly. I can't remember if it was Armada or Armada II that had the entire game laid out on the CD.

Either way, I know the original Armada works from the CD, and runs great with XP compatibility.
