Khitomer Accord...Really?

We I thought that The Cure was fluke and just a badly designed mission that frankly I was happy to finally get through and I will NEVER set foot in again.

Well now comes the Khitomer Accord. I have tried this mission at least 15 times now (all pugs).

All the developer posts on the subjects of STFs I have read preach about how they wanted to challenge the players at the "end game". Well a challenge is one thing but if players are failing a mission 15+ times after reading all the guides and advice threads on the mission something is wrong. The beginning space part of this mission is just to over the top. I have not talked to a single player in the game that has completed the mission ( I am sure some have) and frankly it is getting harder and harder to find people that will even consider trying the STFs let alone be good enough to have a snow balls chance to finish them. I can never find a team that has even a chance at this mission. I usually go to the right gate by my self or I take one other with me. We always kill everything at the right gate no problem but the three people at the left gate always let all 6 probes through like they are taking a nap or something. I just don't get it. I can't be every where all the time. Making the game be easy mode until you reach max level has done nothing but created a bunch or easy mode players that have zero skill. These players (99%) of them will never complete these bugged, broken, over the top STFs. Never going to happen period.

I remember reading when the game was being developed that there wouldn't be a death penalty because Craptic was all about the players having "FUN". Well how are these STFs supposed to be fun? They are nothing short of completely frustrating. I would have more fun going out in my garage and hitting my self in the face with a hammer. Then to add insult to injury (because Craptic is all about "FUN") there is a 15 minute go F' yourself timer before you can restart the mission?

This game and title should have gone to a company that would have taken it more seriously and not just milked till it was dry like some poor old cow.

Why are you complaining? It's a combination of being sneaky and blowing the pants off the Borg. Like any good RP quest, it has a few puzzles to solve. I've never noticed any bugs because I was having too much fun watching the Borg drop like flies. It's way simpler than The Cure. :D

So you're complaining because your team can't handle it and you blame Cryptic? Oookay.

You want to beat KA, find better teammates. Its doable.

And as for the 15 minute timer, disband the team and reform it and you don't have to wait because you get a new instance. It is annoying, but the workaround is simple.

KA is my favorite mission in game atm. Its fun, long, epic at many parts and I haven't experienced any extremely hard parts (the bug in space at the end is annoying, but I still love this mission).

Spec right, bring competent players, bring consumables, and you will find out how enjoyable these STFs really are.

Having played endgame content in several MMORPGs, I can say with certainty the statement above is not true.

I've also been on the receiving end of that beatdown as well, it's just part of the game. I've led teams against unbeaten content where we lost 20-30+ times before we found a way to win.

It is logical there will be places the casual gamer/team without all the best equipment/builds/moves will not be able to survive.

Perhaps these places should get a different name so people can be aware,

In my futile attempts i have found a lot of people come ill prepared.
For one thing they dont seem to know what evasive maneuvers is, and second 9 times out of 10 pug's lack any tractor beam countermeasures, despite the fact that borg spheres and cubes ALWAYS spam tractor beams.

I attempted Khitomer with a team of very experienced players who have done this mission quite a few times. The two, and later three players who have had experience with this mission praised the other less experienced player and myself on how well we followed their instructions. We we able to successfully eliminate three rounds of the borg dropping in, and were albe to get the left gate down to 70% health from 100% (The Tactical Cube was right on top of the gate, but did nothing to the gate's health) before we were overwhelmed. I highly believe that those who say the STF are easy are grossly exaggerating.

One solution to the first part of this mission is to make the Borg Probes follow those who aggro them. This would buy some time for the players to eliminate the threat. Two and a half minutes is not nearly enough time to target the gate once the shields are down. It may seem like a lot, but even with two tactical officers unloading full force, the gate's health barely dropped 5%. The timer sould be extended to five minutes at least. A third change I suggest is to scale thd number of ships that drop out of transwarp be proportional to the number of players. 1 Sphere and a few probes for a group of three, and add 1 sphere and two or three probes per player past the thrid player might make the Borg more managable.

Finally, if the Borg truely were building up a fleet around a temporal apature, wouldn't the Federation and the Klingon Empire throw almost everything they have at the Borg to prevent tampering to the timeline? The first part might make more sense as an open instance similar to a Fleet action, with both the Feds and the Klinks joining in the action as soon as they get into range. After the Borg fleet has been eliminated, then several small strike forces would be sent in and staggered to maximine coverage of all points in time where the Borg might infiltrate.

The secret of the KA space part:
You need space fire power, that means : if f.e. a tactical is coming around with a sci ship - leave that team.
We often do KA in our fleet and all exam the sci officers are coming around with escorts to KA (also the eng are coming for this mission with an escort). Scatter Valley is a very good skill for that mission ! If you are following this simply rule : max space dgps for ka , then it will not take more than 10 min (for the first space part)

You play with pugs, expect defeat!!!

Ok, seriously, I can tell that you don't play the STF's much and therefore you fail, wine and cry , and become a angry frustrated poor sport. Your first mistake is playing with a bunch of random people who you do not know and do not know what they are doing. Infected is less than an hour to complete with a seasoned crew of friends (fleet) that uses some form of TS or vent which is free to download or inexpensive to purchase. Cure is harder at around 2 hours with a well equipped team and not my favorite, but not super challanging either, like you state. KA also takes some time, like 20 minutes to destroy both gates(our record is 12.5), get to the past, fight to Vega colony, with the bulk of the time spent chasing (20-45 minutes) Donatra's cloaked bork ship at the end. I cheched yesterday on my main, and of my 62 completed lower level STF runs, only 33 were the easy Infected runs so stop crying waaaa, its to hard, make some friends and learn how to defeat the end game content. Its that simple, its that easy, its that fun!!!!!
