Empire Defense Against Romulan Aggression
 

Currently I am having fun killing loads of Romulans for the Empire Defense Against Romulan Aggression quest as KDF Commander in my Norgh BoP.

The quest itself requires you to kill 3 Romulan Battle Groups in the Azure Nebula, while in the system however you get a counter for 12 Romulan Squadrons. So my logic tells me that for this quest to finish I need to kill 3x 12 romulan squadrons… However what I do not understand is why the quest constantly finishes after 12-15 squadrons (Combination of Fighters, BoP’s, but preferably Mogai Escorts and D’deridex Battleships) instead of my logic telling me 36.

What I would like to know:
1. Is 1 Battle Group a specific amount of ships? instead of what I think a certain amount of squadrons.
2. Is the quest simply bugged?

At this moment it is 400 skill points about every 10 minutes (not counting 6 minute quest countdown after finish). At this moment I do not complain (much), but is this not a bit over the top compaired to the extreme slow leveling from Lieutenant up to Commander?

If I were you I would do space combats in the nebulae to level...its much faster and reliable for XP.

Wait until you get to captain. The mission becomes bugged such that you can't complete it anymore. The timer does not reset. You can kill all the ships you want, but the defeat X squadrons does not appear.

Or you can take the quest, and in some cases other people have told me you can turn in the quest after completing it once instead of 3 times. It is bugged for sure if they are right.

Yeah it's bugged for sure. I can hand it in after only one run through of 10 squadrons or whatever. Kind of handy to be honest lol, makes levelling up quite quick!:D

I have had that with both nebula and Kahless expanse. For Kahless thoughthe first 2 times it completed after 1 mission and after that it required 3 missions.

All those Empire Defense missions are bugged that way, pretty much. They'll complete after you do 1 of the 3 required most of the time. Believe this tends to work until you exceed the mission level by a certain amount.

It probably should be fixed, but if it were, then the missions aren't worth doing anymore compared to other missions, in terms time vs reward.

This is why I stress that the space combat missions in the nebulae for exploring badges is the shortest, and most-reliable way to level on the KDF side....

Doing the first 4 Devidian missions is faster solo, actually. You can do all 4 in half an hour, every half hour, with some time to sell in between.

Does require knowing what you are doing in ground combat, of course, as well as learning how to do the missions quickly, especially "What Lies Beneath", as that one has lots of fights that can be skipped.
