LFF but PLEASE READ first

Lookign for a fleet, both myself and my boyfriend play here but due to work and other things our time can soemtimes be constant, and then soemtimes we're both out for the count for weeks on end.

I mostly am looking for a fleet due to rp, but my boyfriend whilst a roleplayer is more into missions.

Just a few requirements:

We don't HAVE TO use teamspeak, even for borg-based raids, why? We ddi them before the items were released and succeeded without teamspeak. It is NOT required and being on a limited bandwidth connection in australia, we will not be using teamspeak or voice unless you pay for our internet and upgrade it :-P

So, only recruit if you are seriously ok with non teamspeak players pvp'ing and raiding with you.

Roleplay is not a requirement in your fleet, we usually roleplay randomly with anyone outside of fleets anyway.

We just want to, play the game without the BS that seems to follow most groups of trek-fans around.

AKA, chill-axe, don't take the game too seriously, don't take trek too seriously as that just...wrong...

Just enjoy it.

So far my experience with previous fleets has been the opposite of what they claim. So...I'll be pensive with any to begin with until we see if they live up to what they say about being laid-back friendly and non oppressive.

It is a game, a fleet leader is just a host, not someone I have to salute and take orders without question from :-P

We both play on the one account, so you'll find either Ben or myself @Sirius39

That was cute. ^^ I hope you find the right fleet. :)

Heya Sirius39,

I think the 12th fleet has a lot of what you're looking for. We're a casual friendly fleet who puts real life before the game. Formality has been done away with ages ago and is really looked down upon. I'm one of the highest ranking members in my fleet, but I feel very uncomfortable whe people address me by rank and I always stress them to just call me by my char name instead. :D

Our fleet has several divisions, each with a different focus. My own division happens to focus on RPing, but like the rest of the fleet this is casual. We have an active community though and we're working up to organising 1 event per week, however, attendance for that is optional.
Another division of ours focusses on PvPing and yet another on STF's. You don't need to be in a certain division to join in on the fun stuff, but I believe the PvP and STF teams did make the use of teamspeak mandatory.

Though it may have worked out for you without using it our teams don't want to run without. I hope this isn't a breaking point for you, since we have a lot of other things to offer too. Perhaps with the coming arrival of the in-game voice chat in season 4 your problems will still be resolved when it comes to bandwidth issues?

TS in general isn't mandatory to use though. :)

I hope you'll give the link a shot and see if we're really something for you or not. If not then I want to wish you the best of luck with finding a fleet that suits your needs. ^_^

Hello Sirius.

The {UFP} which I represent can be as complex and interactive as you like, or as simplistic and casual as you need.
As a large fleet we have people that come in with a wide variety of different expectations and we try to meet them to the best of our ability.

I can see that a casual hands off approach from interfering fleets is what you're seeking. I can tell you that aside from signing up via our website, all we require from our members is a monthly sign in, which is a minute or less job (and we send out reminders). Forgetting to sign it on the odd occasion isn't the end of the world either, it just allows us to administrate our numbers so we can properly organise.
There are no formalities, no over bearing rules and regs, and we realise real life comes first. Our fleet is about options, and choosing how and when to interact with the community and its activities.

TeamSpeak is there for you, but it isn't at all mandatory. You can just use text chat on TeamSpeak if you wanted to though, and we do have a room just for text chat, generally used for socialising.

If you have any further questions feel free to contact me, or visit our FAQ page.
Alternatively we can be found at www.ufplanets.com.

Shameless pug to all the above fleets bar the one that said they have members that require team speak for their runs.

All fleets honest folk that actually read what you want before they speak and don;t hide much.

So far beats past experience where previous fleets have told me anything I want to hear in order for a membership.

Hi Sirius,
Sorry to hear you haven't found a fleet of your liking. You might want to check us out, we are a small fleet , we have been around since the beginning of STO. We are a very laid back fleet. All of us are in the US timezones, I don't know if that is a problem since you're in Australia, particularly since our main game night is Sunday night 9 pm NewYork time.

There are a few RP-ers in our fleet. Our fleet members have players on both fed and KDF, so we log on there as well. Our fleet members are all in their late 20s-30s. We all understand the responsability of kids/work/married life. We don't have minimum gametime requirements, minimum level requirements or any of those silly hoops (just an app to get to know you better)

The use of voice chat is not mandatory, we don't have problems if someone uses text chat. (on weekdays we rarely use voice chat). On sunday game nights we usually use it, but we've made it through without a hitch if one of our members has problems with their headset. I'm sure we can adapt.

You can look any of us fleet officers, @CNova, @Snappy-Of-Gorn, @azndood79, @cheath, @xStrykerx online.

My fleet does not require TS or Vent to do a STF, there are several persons in the fleet that do not come on Vent to do an STF.

But there might be certain individuals that do not want to do an STF with a team member that they don't know, if that person has never done an STF before or if it sounds like they might not know what they are doing.

There is a small but important difference.
