usually i wouldnt defend or try to comment on that, but woah man.
i havnt seen it but i hear that Qo'Nos got a rehaul right? on tribble? and when the open pvp sectors are up and running i think that'll be great. and i have only leveled 1 klink, so i cant speak much on it. klingons are a secondary storyline on star trek. like the romulans and vulcans, ect... star trek is the federations story. there is bound to be a content gap. honestly if you feel that passionate i would apply for a job there, are you creating player created content for your faction? are the mishes good? if so id like to run thu them. i like playing my klingon. |

a contest to design a new KDF ship would be nice. |
I've seen the new qonos but thats about all thats been done for the klingon faction recently and i liked it, but where is the new ships and varients? There is so much that has been forgotten in the klingon faction.
Also open space pvp is basically finding an enemy signal and seeing if here are player in those enemy signals not true open space pvp although current pvp is acceptable. Then there was suppose to be resource battles and creating custome star bases which was basically nerf'ed. Klingons just now have gotten access to sector blocks that federation players have had since beta, whats up with that. All im saying is if this was suppose to be something of an equal footing why havent the R&D team been divided into teams to develop the game on equal footing as intended. |
The Klingon vs Fed War was abit of a shock too me when I first started to play the game.
I mean I can see it happening.. Because the Feds and the Klingons have been at war twice before in the past as far as the Cannon of the show is concerned. So I was some what ok with it.. How ever there is a big part of me that felt it was already done.. We already have a GOOD enemy or Two we can use for a War type set up.. The Borg. And species 8472 aka The Undine. And so far they have been trying to make both enemies as universal threats to both the Klingon Empire and the Federation. So why even BOTHER go to war with each other when there's a much bigger threat? And yet.. here we are.. It's the Federation vs the Klingon Empire.. And the Klingon Empire wasn't even portrayed properly from the word go in my opinion. I mean first of all, The Klingon Empire are supposed to be Conquerors. Yet, they don't play like they are. They play like they are just angry feds who can use ships that can cloak. Really? Also there's supposed to be some kind of Internal struggle in the Klingon empire, one faction vs another... while there's a war with the Federation... So now the Klingon empire isn't even organized... And to top it off because the game is primally built to cater to the Federation and it's Player base, they get all of the new toys first, while the Klingon Empire will get what ever is left over. I should have seen that as the way things were going to be when, way back during the Open Beta, when they were releasing Pre-sign up toys, one of the toys that originally was state to be promised to both sides, the Joined Trill, took 3 months+ to be released to the Klingon side of the fence.. Then.. the TRUE killer to the PVP part, again in my opinion, and a ruining force to the Klingon Empire... Fed vs. Fed. I'll admit, I can understand the reasoning behind it. But I don't see why they didn't at least make it more worth it to actually do FvK. Like Half the rewards for FvF or KvK but better rewards for FvK.. But hey, both sides need to be in balance right? And since the Federation is the Larger side of the Game, they have to have better options, right? This game could have had such a brighter future. So many things could have been better with this game so far. And yet here we are. Sure we have a good game so far. And we have updates coming.. But if the game continues on the path it's on right now, I don't know how well it will grow when the new monster sized games are released. Let's not get anything misunderstood.. I have a life time subscription for this game. So I don't plan to go anywhere. How ever, if things don't get better from here on out.. I doubt my play time in this game will be as good as it was a year ago. |

but if there is to be a WAR, it must be EVEN. nothing like a good ole even fight to test the piloting and command skills you know, and cheers to the klingon fleets seeking the same. see you on the battlefield |
I'll play Devil's Advocate here in that we should be grateful they gave us at least these Open PvP zones. And Klingons got a new town to play with. It's not much, but it's a start.
As I said for a while now, I honestly don't think Cryptic understands PvP or how to implement it. Just look at the War Zones in how they said how fun it was, but yet the only ones really competing are Feds looking for loot, while everyone else is PvPing for the sake of PvP. And now we got these DSE Open PVP where they say it's fun for us to attack freighters while PvPing at the same time, yet you can't loot while being attacked, and those freighters have a limited time spawn. So even by the time you finish off the Feds, those Freighters are gone. So in the end those DSEs wouldn't be any different than Ker'rat. Which really makes their effort a complete waste of time. We here on the forum told them exactly what to do and they respond with basically, "We don't know how to do that". Territoral PvP is easy from my viewpoint, have a planet, Open Space PvP above it and there is no objective, people shoot at one another or try to prevent players landing on the planet. The planet is just a huge Open PvP zone where they could have respawning NPCs that have special objectives and you got one major point that has a respawn time of a day or so and players fight over that. All you need to do is keep somekind of score of what side one and presto. And the funny thing is basically the mechanics are already there in game via Ker'rat (minuse the Buggy Borg). If they had the budget, they should hire a PvP specialist and help mould the game. If done right it would make STO something to play, because fighting for a real goal is actually funner than just score keeping. But that's me talking. |
