PvP's been ruined for me personally ...
 
I hate the new changes to PvP. I was never all that fond of ground and think the new changes are great, but it's not my thing.

What is my thing is space PvP. Why Cryptic did you have to meddle with the builds? So there were OP abilities and broken ones. Instead of just addressing these like the communities been begging you to do, you go and roll out changes that exasterbate them. My builds are now useless, despite these builds having been solid in the past. I prided myself on my ability to support, but that's been removed for me. I'm not spending another cent on respec. Is that you intention each time - forcing players to spend money to compensate each time you "fix" something that was never broken to start with. I use to be a supporter. Really, I was.

For me it's the deal breaker. PvP was the one thing I really enjoyed in the game. Please don't tell me to learn to play, or stop moaning. I know how to play. I have had enough friend requests to know I'm not all that bad.

Nothing drastically changed for Space PvP in Season 4. May I ask what changes you're talking about, and which builds you feel are obsolete?

I've actually been thinking of changing my build for a while, I'm just trying to optimize it in a way that would make it better. It's been too long since I've changed it.

It was my understanding that the shield power was downgraded and the weapons based on rarity boosted - or am I wrong. Suddenly after S4 I am dying as though I am a newbie - it never happened at this rate with exactly the same build. And I didn't suddenly overnight get this bad, and everyone else this good. Before S4 to the day, players flocked to me because they knew I supported well. Now they run from me because I'm the first to die.

If a Dev would tell me "Listen, bud nothing has change its your style", then I will concede that there is still much in the way of learning, but right now somthing is wrong. Again - its my opinion of things.

Correct on both accounts.

The capacity of Covariants was slightly reduced and Regens were increased.

Each rarity level of an item gives you a 5% damage bonus (not including [Dmg] modifiers), capping out at 15% for purple weapons.

I don't think these changes were so major as to make you pop like candy though - maybe it's something else? There are quite a few other things that are broken, such as not being able to see when SNB is on yourself. Could this be it?

I recently respec-ed my (sci) build to take into account ground abilities. Perhaps shaving down some of the point allocation from 7 to 5 in certain areas could account for it. But I am truly not sure.

My BOP feels like a death trap now, and with EpTS III and SCI III I use to withstand quiet a beating before having to break off. Now even with those and TSS II and HE II I have to break it off after like 5 - 7 seconds, and then most of my shields are gone and hull down to 30 - 40%. And all I have are hull resistance consoles fitted, and one shield booster 35%.

My carrier seems even worse affected - my tanking has virtually ceased. I use to tank incredibly well and was the healer. Now thats all gone out the window - I was just pit-roasted by a science officer in an escort! And I had him in GW III with Borg Tractor and he still annihilated me. I use to obliterate Escorts.

There is also quite a bit more Power activation Lag occuring. I've had to mash key binds to fire off some powers. I've even noticed in some situations Omega not conferring the immunity to tractor beams that it should.

I had to literally hold the keypress for like 1-2 secs before SNB would fire and HYT II only fired one torp every time?

My sci ship works as good as before S4. There are some annoying bugs (mostly UI issues) but the shield/weapon changes had no impact on my build... at least none that I could notice.

It always was. :) The thing is made out of paper-mache. Of course some enemy players can make it feel like it doesn't exist. =p

There are some great science escorts out there that can be nasty ****s. Never underestimate those small packages. :)
