Do you think the Hargh'Peng needs to be "fixed"?
 
The intent of this thread is to raise awareness of what many in the PvP community see as a problem, and to get the attention of Cryptic.

So basically, do you, as a player, think that the Hargh'peng Torpedo Launcher needs to be changed in some way?

Any answer is, of course, welcome even if it is as simple as a "yes" (It should be changed) or "no" (keep it as is), or as complex as you need it to be.

as it should only be a pve weapon

Simple Answer: Yes

I would like to see it become a Unique weapon or limit to 1 front / 1 aft. The secondary explosion's effect shouldn't be stackable and being enhanced by debuffs or by simply getting a player's defense to 0 or lower.

What are the causes for concern with this weapon? I know they fixed the 2nd explosion to be cleared by HE. As for sci's who need points else where they don't need to spec into this. Tac's would spec into torps since they don't spend it much elsewhere. I've been running a MK4 even tho I am VA. Edit -1 MK 4 on the front only

It should be available to both factions. The faction that doesn't get them is perhaps most negatively impacted by them due to their low hull rates and reliance on cloak. It's proc rate is far too high. They don't require you to invest points to make them effective (that's not entirely unique to these but it's an issue nonetheless). It should be unique.

Although, maybe they wouldn't need to be unique if the proc rate wasn't so high. Still, they should at least have a longer cool down.

2. they should be limited somewhat. LoL'pengs as they are now completely ignore shields, and especially escorts can be much easier to take down.

I guess I've been lucky in that I'm rarely hit by them and even more rarely am hit for heavy damage by them. Perhaps because I'm usually running an escort with hit & run tactics and high defenses?

Regardless, the fact that they're not unique is very surprising. Hale is right that it is unfair that only one faction gets them and that you do not need to spec in torps to use them to their full effectiveness.

Also that sucker hits fast and hard. Turn the proc way down and I think it'll take less heat for being OP.
