Charging Phaser Strips?

Is it possible to have this tech implemented? It's kinda weird to see fixed spots on my ship's phaser strips shooting phasers.

You mean where tow orange "spots" follow the array from either side, untill they meet and fire a beam?

i think he does, and add the reman shields, borg console, aegis deflector and borg engins and you'll just be a ball of multi colored light with fire at will.

it's a nice idea but combat is too quick for it to be worth it

I think it would be a good FX though for powers like Beam Overload.

this would be an awesome effect. I was thinking it should be special for the Galaxy-X.

I also think the animation (given the amount of times beams can fire) would increase your video card load dramatically (STO runs most cards pretty hot already ;)).

ive wanted this since day one, but i can see it being very hard to implement for a number of reasons.

if they can do it then awesome.

I think video cards nowadays are able to render these sort of things without exploding.

Has more to do with an incredibly ineffecient engine pulling a LOT more resources then it should. Rather then the hardware itself.
