Character Conversion notes
So, I transferred my main over to see what effect it would have on the character. Here's what I noticed happened:
First the money part. As far as I can tell, EC and GPL were unaffected by the transfer (no shock there).
Pre-transfer I had the following:
Marks - Exploration 17, Valor, 2, Excellence 94, Distinction 25, Bravery 36
Badges - Fifth order 150, Third 32, Second 75, and First 35
Post transfer: 97,262 refined dilithium (that's REFINED)
Now in the C-Store it gets a little weird. I had already bought Excelsior and Nebula pre-transfer. My nebula that I fly was converted to the new +1 version (sweet, I can swap out the Tachyon Grid!). I also had "purchased" the Intrepid Retrofit with my VA token. All three ships were available to me without any problems (though I had previously claimed all three with this character).
Problem 1: I no longer have access to the T3 versions of the (C-Store) ships. Since seperating them, apparently I'm not cool enough to have both (even though that is what I purchased)
Problem 2: All my bridge packs have disappeared. The C-store (and ship editor) makes it appear that I have to rebuy all of them. Funny quirk, if I beam to my bridge, it's still my purchased one.
Problem 3: My purchased clothing items are gone as well. The one I know for sure is the open jackets, which is no longer an option. Again, my BOff who is currently wearing it still it, but if I try to select it on any new ones, it asks for money.
Problem 4: Ship costumes are missing. Apparently it's all the vanity items that are gone.
That's all I've noticed so far. Feel free to post any other things you've noticed in conversion or if your items are missing as well.
So based on your math they are weighing emblems way higher than the other currencies. You should see my post on a buying analysis. These formulas are way way off.
C-Store purchases are not transferring over on purpose. They have spoke at large on that subject.
I had about 2000 Exploration badges and now I have about ~57,000 dilithium.
1,032 marks (combined Exploration, Honor, Valor)
5,310 medals (all 5th order)
66,123 badges (combined 1st-5th)
=> 1,329,529 refined and 384,000 ore
It appears that no one has gotten more than 384,000 ore after transferring a character from Holodeck.
12 Nov Edit - For those who may want to use my data for currency conversion calculations:
1032 Mark breakdown: 930 Exploration, 67 Honor, 35 Valor
5310 Medal breakdown: 5310 Excellence, 0 Distinction, 0 Commendation, 0 Bravery, 0 Achievement
66123 Badges breakdown: 23545 5th, 10443 4th, 10571 3rd, 10646 2nd, 10918 1st
Apparently I attract Commodores to my posts :D
I didn't feel like doing any math, but I put the numbers up for those who are interested.
And apparently they are allowing c-store purchases to come over, if those c-store purchases are ships. What I find interesting is that the things that I've already purchased, claimed, and unlocked are effectively relocked. I wouldn't have a problem if I couldn't claim them on new characters on Tribble, but it's kinda weird to not have access to them on the transfer character. It doesn't affect anything, so I'm not shedding any major tears about it.
So I don't know if anyone else has done the math yet but when we get all of our merit/honor, badges, medals, and emblems converted to dillithium the current formulas they used are significantly short changing us. The buying power is reduced by orders of magnitude.
I will illustrate.
On live my VA Engineer has the following:
141 Medals of Exceelance
303 5h order badges of exploration
230 3rd order bages of exploration
plus minor amounts of the other badges/medals as well
On Tribble I got 32181 refined dillithium for all of that.
What I can buy on live:
1 MK X! blue dual beam phaser bank
4 Mk X green dual beam phaser bank
That's using just the emblems and the 5th order badges
With merits I could also get over 300 officers
On Tribble I could just barely afford 2 Mk X dual beam phaer banks. With what would be left over I could recruit a few officers.
So I go from 5 dual beam banks to 2, that's not counting that I on live I could also buy 6 mk vi beam banks for my 3rd order badges. So really I am goin from 11 or more purchaseable items to 2, I also loose significant buying power with the merit loss as well.
All in all those of us with VA's with lots of the various badges/emblems etc are going to loose a lot of buying power if these formulas don't get reworked.
Don't forget guys merit is being converted as well and now promotion/bo purchase is now for dillithium as well.
Here are the conversion numbers for my main character Havelock Vetinari:
Mark of Honor: 7
Mark of Exploration: 145
Mark of Valor: 20
Medal of Excellence: 660
Medal of Distinction: 0
Medal of Commendation: 0
Medal of Bravery: 0
Medal of Achievement: 0
Badge of Exploration, 5th Order: 460
Badge of Exploration, 4th Order: 1,232
Badge of Exploration, 3rd Order: 1,508
Badge of Exploration, 2nd Order: 881
Badge of Exploration, 1st Order: 3,252
Ship Tokens: 1*
(*I think it was the VA token, as I don't remember changing out of my Assault Cruiser until I C-Store purchased my Excel, but Holodeck's display doesn't designate the tier of the Token.)
Dilithium Ore: 90,878
Dilithium Refined: 250,878
Ship Tokens: 1 (Rear Adm.)
Positive Transfer Quirk:
I had purchased the T3 Nebula and Excelsior on Holodeck the other day. I had removed the pre-installed gear and sold it for EC. On Tribble I had the new versions with the removable consoles and the pre-installed gear is back and it has EC value (that really surprises me).
Negative Transfer Quirk:
My primary ship on Holodeck is the Excelsior Retrofit (T5). I didn't get the new console, so I thought I'd need to discharge it. I did. And now I can't reclaim the ship.
Quick Spot Econ Difference:
With my 565 Emblems on Holodeck I can buy 22x Mk XI Purple Away Team Weapons (@25ea) or 18x Mk XI Purple Ship Weapons (@30ea). On Tribble, if I combine my Ore/Ref I will have 341,756 Dilithium. Which will buy me 30x Mk XI Purple Away Team Weapons (@11,350ea) or 15x Mk XI Purple Ship Weapons (@22,620).
I win on the ground gear, lose on the ship gear.
Of course that doesn't factor in that I have 12 days worth of Ore to convert. Nor that it will actually take much longer as I'll be earning Dil ore each day. I suppose it's not that big of a deal, but it is a pain in the nether regions. They really just need to give us Refined Dilithium, straight up.
Also, the fact that my Merits, Badges, Marks, etc. appear on the surface to have had no weight in the conversion is disappointing.
This was my conversion:
Mark of Honor: 0
Mark of Exploration: 264
Mark of Valor: 28
Medal of Excellence: 51
Medal of Distinction: 0
Medal of Commendation: 175
Medal of Bravery: 0
Medal of Achievement: 58
Badge of Exploration, 5th Order: 6,192
Badge of Exploration, 4th Order: 97
Badge of Exploration, 3rd Order: 225
Badge of Exploration, 2nd Order: 300
Badge of Exploration, 1st Order: 525
Dilithium Ore: 64,835
Refined Dilithium: 224,835
I was actually a little dissapointed, that Marks of Valor got converted into Dilithium...
Don't get me wrong, I expected as much, but I kinda hoped that they could see the idea, that Marks of Valor were STF points, and that they would convert them into STF currency.
