Escort Build for borg missions (please critique)
Ship: Multi Vector Assault Escort
I need some advice in increasing this builds DPS efficiency, and im skeptical about my current Boff skill setup, I think it could be better I just dont know how...
I tend to focus on space combat skills, and leave ground combat as a minor priority, I have no trouble setting up skills and have the ability to respec so that is not an issue.
I usually play pretty casually and am not too hardcore so any basic or even hardcore advice would be very much appreciated.
MVAM has more than enough mobility to make full use of your forward arc...
...I have to stop and question why people feel the need to cripple their own Escorts by trying to make them into Cruisers...
Anyway, swap the forward beam array for a Dual Beam Bank.
Remove that wierd, crazy, and otherwise unnecessary ENTIRE aft weapon arc.
Replace said weapons with turrets.
Move MVAM console to the Science.
Replace ALL other Tactical consoles with Antiproton relays.
Replace Engineering consoles with +35% Shield Capacity and EPS Flow Regulator. +% Turn Rate is worthless on an MVAM, you're already the single most maneuverable ship in the game (ESPECIALLY in PvE against Borg, the most motionless enemies in the game).
NEVER use Fire At Will on an Escort. Swap to Beam Overload.
Don't bother with a Tactical Team above 1. No real point.
Never use more than a single Tactical Team. You're wasting your slots.
Get rid of Dispersal Patterns... no more mines on an Escort. Use the Escort as an Escort, not a Cruiser.
Use 2x Cannon Rapid Fire.
Keep Attack Pattern Omega on hand to deal with Tractor Beams and give you some nice damage buffs.
Pick one: Spread or High Yield. Drop the other in favor of Attack Pattern Beta.
Swap Emergency Power to Weapons to Emergency Power to Shields.
Swap Reverse Shield Polarity for either Engineering Team or a second Emergency Power to Shields. Your choice.
Swap Transfer Shield Strength for Science Team.
is their any reason why i wouldn't add a 3rd APDHC instead of a dual beam bank?
Beam Overload will make that one dual beam bank hit for between 650% to 800% intensity.
You will effectively burst with 6-8x your normal strength.
2x Cannon Rapid Fire will maintain a constant barrage of your 2x DHC + 3x rear Turrets.

Hazard Emitters 1
Hazard Emitters 2
Transfer Shield Strength 3
Scatter and Spread attack multiple targets and clear plasma torps. Hazard heals plasma fire and borg shield drain. The rest keeps your shields up. Use beam overload as a finisher. Happy hunting.
Firing arcs aren't a problem in one of the game's most maneuverable ships... ESPECIALLY against borg...
Dual Beam will grant a significant offensive bonus with BO...
Other than that, the build is sound.
If you're using an escort like Defiant or Prometheus, use cannons instead and all the same type that way they stack. Don't have your BOFFs trained in beam attacks, use Scatter Volley and the other one I forget off hand what it's called.
Turrets and Cannons are your friends.
Not taking advantage of that weakens you.
More than enough cannons/turrets to go around and still able to take advantage of BO.
so I should go cannon: scatter, instead of cannon: rapid?
Any suggestions for the last tac Boff skill (ensign skill)?
Also my original build and tactics included gravity well, is it better to go with the hazard emitters and shield strength though?
