Dear CapnLogan - Orion ships

MMkk... so far we have the following ships:

Dacoit Flight-Deck Cruiser - T3.5
- This ship looks awesome. I love it. Only problem is that I can't use it at LtG since it's only T3.
- Intercepters are cool, though they're basically the same as what we used to have on the Marauder. I initially bought the ship just to get them back.

Corsair Flight Deck Cruiser - T4.5
- This ship looks awesome too. I don't have it (yet), but I love how it looks. However, like the Dacoit, it's only T4, so it's not very good for LtG.

Marauder Patrol / Flight Deck Cruiser - T5
- This ship is a good ship to fly, but I hate how it looks. The other two Orion ships look awesome, and I think "man, my Orion would fit these ships great!" Then I look at the Marauder, and my Orion runs away screaming at how bad it looks.
- Marauding Force is okay, but I miss the Interceptors that came with the ship. If it had been me, I would've kept the Interceptors on this ship, rather than moving them to the Dacoit.

Now, here's what I propose.

1. Add an alternate skin for the Marauder. I wouldn't mind replacing the look completely with a new design similar to the Corsair or Dacoit, but I understand some people might actually like it.

2. Add the Interceptor in-game as a flyable ship. Preferably as a T5 BoP-level ship, but fighter would be okay too I guess.

Basically, the Orions need more ships throughout the levels and classes. I'm not the only one that plays an Orion (indeed, there's at least two or three full fleets of solely Orion players), and I know most of us would love to have Orion ships at LtG.

I just want to jump in and provide the counterpoint that I love my Marauder as it is, much prefer the subsystem-disabling marauding force shuttles to power-draining interceptors, feel that its design is visually more in line with canonical Orion vessels (most notably Harrad-Sar's barge), and would be plenty disappointed to see it changed in any dramatic way.

What I would like to see, however, is unique interiors for the non-Klingon vessels and maybe change the look of the marauding force shuttles to something more Orion in appearance, but otherwise I'm good.

For something down the road....

Orion interiors? I wonder what those would look like....

Like if Donald Trump owned a starship.

You're joking, right? A measly Orion Interceptor performing like a T5 BoP?

Now as a fighter, yeah, that'd be awesome. Give it a universal ensign BOff slot and a built-in engine drain beam power thingy and it'd be golden.

I like the idea of an Orion with a escort class vessel. I really think it'd be nice to see some alternate classes for some of the other races at least at T5 as well. I'd also like to eventually see appropriate interiors that suited the Orin, Gorn, and Nausicaan ships. Why not eh? Finally, it is strange to lose an old power, but oh well. The only concern is if we started seeing Tier 6 come out with the next big level up they're going to offer us (Level 60). If that comes to pass, I'm actually hoping they just give us a way to upgrade our older ships.

On a more serious note though, I was confused at the route they chose for Orion ships. I imagined things much more on a blockade runner style. I had preumed to find them as fast ships in the Fed escort style, but faster still maybe.

I do like the Orion ships, I should add. They offer 'a little bit of everything'.

I thkn Cuatela meant the one from "Enterprise", which was not a fighter but the size of a BoP.

No, I'm not joking. Mister Dee is correct that I'm referring to the Orion Interceptor seen in Ent "Borderland"

I'm guessing you're used to seeing the interceptor in-game, which is portrayed as a simple single-seat fighter. In canon, the Interceptor had a crew of around 15-30, with enough space for a couple boarding parties and prisoners at least.

The canon Interceptor was closer to escort sized, and two of them completely disabled Enterprise without much trouble. Considering the D'kyr, B'rel, and Excelsior have all been upgraded to T5, I don't see much of a stretch in making one of the few canon Orion ships upgraded too.

I have to agree with you here. It strikes me as odd that a race known for being black market, mafia-style, would have "flight deck carriers". The two or three Orion ships we've seen on-screen were mostly fast, quick, maneuverable, etc. why are we not seeing anything like that? :(
