Transfer Shield Strength question

Has Transfer Shield Strength changed recently? IIRC, when this ability was used, one could see a blue or greenish beam between the source ship and the target (friendly) ship. I used it today but I did not see this, which made me wonder whether it was working.

Another thing... does having an SIF console help with this ability?

If the TSS ability no longer works, I want to change to something else.

As far as I recall, the beam was very quick and then was over. So maybe it just bugs and doesn't show sometimes. Or you may be remembering Extend Shields, which keeps the beam up for a while.

Transfer Shield strength definitely still works for me, but I can't recall if it always shows a beam or just sometimes.

Emitter Arrays (sci consoles) help with TSS and all other shield healing abilities now. Transporter doffs can be useful too, though it's a separate (but handy) boarding party cleanse.

The TSS ability definitely still works, just finished up an STF where I used it multiple times on friendly targets. I did notice the blue beam fired when I used the ability, but it did not remain. As said in the previous post, the only ability that maintains a constant beam to the friendly target is Extend Shields.

Yes, that's it. Extend Shields is the one and I thought I might be confusing two abilities.

Thanks for clearing that up for me.

I have a followup question related to the Tal'Kyr. It was not obvious to me whether the Tal'Kyr heals friendly ships or just the ship that launches it. Anyone know? I did not check to see whether the combat log mentions what goes on with the Tal'Kyr.
