NONE / EU / US proxy's????

Hello.

Just wondering what exactly the EU/US proxy does?

I was having BIG issues with logging in when I had 'no' proxy selected. (retrieving list of map'- disconnect etc etc)

I live in Poland so I now have 'EU' selected... this 'appears' to have fixed the issue.

I was wondering if this will also help with rubber banding. I have 24 hops to the patchserver. With this new proxy will it be shorter?

What is a proxy?

How does it work?

Rik

You're asking a big question there.

Basic short answer, although not quite correct (but in understandable terms), is that it is a relay server, shortening the route between you and the final destination, manageing traffic and/or storing parts of data.

This is why you're expiriencing better traffic.

Again, it's not quite what it does, but it makes it undertandable to non-it-people.

okay so I should effectively be getting less hops from me to the game servers.

Hope it stays reliable. I'll be testing it at the weekend.
