Eng/D'Kyr Build
Mainly to fit the ideal of the character, I wanted her to be in the D'Kyr...
This toon is mainly for RP, STF, and missions...
Any advice or suggestions are welcome.

Lt Tac: hy1, bo2
LtC Eng: Eng team 1, Aux SiF 1, EPtS 3
Cdr Sci: PH 1, HE 2, Tractor 3, GW 3
Lt Sci: Sci Team 1, TSS 2
Ens Sci: MES 1

You mean BO2 right? For STFs you will need a Tac Team 1, but for normal PvE you can go without.

Maybe take 2 copies of EPtS + 1 Aux2SIF, but you are an Engineer so it may be okayish.

Mask Energy Signature is a waste (1 even more). You won't be able to alpha strike anything like an escort and it can't be used while on Red Alert.

TB3. Do you mean Tractor Beam or Tachyon Beam? Tractor Beam 1 is enough, you don't need higher levels. For STFs I would suggest an upgrade to HE3 and to fit Repulsors 1 in.

yea, Tac Team is a nice ability to have, especially against the Borg.
Though I also wanted High yield and Beam Overload, which I guess the Recon spoiled me on. hehe
So I was thinking bout dropping torps and utilizing Tac Team again.

Yes, two copies of EPtS is a standard method, though I figured that since I have multiple
abilities to increase shields, it should be alright. well, so far it has been.

MeS might be a wasted power for many, well, almost everyone. It does have use though.

on tractor beam, I find that there is a difference between one and three now.
If I replaced the Tractor 3, then I'll have to figure out what I'd want to put there.

If I remember correctly, there always was a small increase in damage between Tractor Beam 1 and 3, but that's not really what Tractor Beams are for and NPC ships you can easily hold with 1. It's your only Lt. Com. sci slot, so just make sure you put something useful in. Personally for STFs I would probably go with:

PH1 / TSS2 / HE3/ GW3
ST1 / TBR1

The TB1 could also be replaced with another HE1 and you can use the full Borg set and/or the Grappler console.

I'm not sure about the TBR, since I'd prolly push things in the wrong direction. lol

Tractor 3 lasts for 17 secs while Tractor 1 lasts for 10.
increased damage, which every little bit helps. lol
Tractor 3 also seems to have a stronger hold than Trator 1.

currently, the skills are;
Lt Tac: Tac Team 1, BO 2
LtC Eng: Eng Team 1, Aux SiF 1, EPtS 3
Cdr Sci: PH 1, HE 2, Tractor 3, GW 3
Lt Sci: Sci Team 1, TSS 2
Ens Sci: MES 1

So far, this has survived elite Btran, Traelus, and Defari.
(Can't recall the other daily, maybe I should look that up) :)

Weapons are Tetryon DBB, torp, BA fore
BA, Chroniton, BA aft

Now I'm not sure what torp to use, or throw in another BA...
I tried tricobalt, though a 1 minute cooldown is awfully long for the damage...

anyway, I'm looking at what end sets to use... or go piece mail...
currently running full Borg, but I want to change that out... thinking MACO...

on devices, I've got Subspace Field Modulator, eng batt, and an open slot...

Tractor Beam 1 already holds NPC ships, even those using Evasive Maneuvers (Galor, Mogai, ...). That's why not many people think a Lt. Com sci slot is a good tradeoff when you can have the good stuff in your ensign slot.

Torpedoes: I was a big fan of Tricobalts together with Quantums before they were affected by High Yield and Spread and the damage on a single torpedo was higher. Now they still deal good damage, but the cooldown is way to high for my taste.

Not so sure about Chronitons in PvE, NPC ships usually don't perform high spead maneuvers and you could deal more damage with Photons, Quantums and even Plasmas. If you really want the Chroniton proc to be effective, you can go a) Chroniton Torp + Torpedo Spread or b) Chroniton Mines.

For your devices I would suggest auxiliary batteries. That's what I use in STFs: Eng Bat, Aux Bat, SFM. You're probably running high weapons power most of the time and when you need quick aux for heals or a Gravity Well, just pop an aux bat. I also put 3 points in the battery skill, so they last 15 instead of 10 seconds.

currently running with BO, and looking at 2xDBB, BA fore, 3xBA aft.

I understand the Tractor 1 vs 3, I'll switch out some officers to try another arrangement of skills.

suppose I should list the current equipment.

weapons are all Polarized Tetryon
Borg Set (though looking at doing Maco instead)
devices: Subspace Field Mod, Eng Batt, Turret Device (looking at switching in aux batt)
eng console: 2xNeutronium, Monotanium
sci console: 2xParticle generator, Enhanced plasma manifold, assimilated mod
tac console: 2xTetryon pulse generator

Duty Roster: 2 green quality Maintenance Engineers

This is a tough ship. In fact, it's tougher than a 2 dollar steak. I can actually tank in the STFs against spheres and cubes until help arrives.

Thank you for posting your build, it is, different. I'd also change a few things in it.

eng console to have a hull resist
sci console, why counter measuers? why no particle generator?

Tac BO: Tac Team is needed to clear the Borg Boarding parties,
eng BO: I'd prolly put in aux 2 sif,
sci BO: tachyon beam 1 doesn't do enough imo, though it can help,
does the photonic officer help that much for you?

btw, I managed to tank a Tac Cube in mine while the team destroyed the gate...


for my build, any suggestions on which to use? maco? omega?

My D'Kyr is crap! she's weak with the hull and shields. Meh, I guess i need to do some upgrades later since im only a lower half admiral
