I bought this game on release, even the collectors edition, subscribed for a month, and stopped.

However I forgot to cancel my subscription and I was charged for 526.02 days even though I didn't touch the game after the first 20.

Would it ever be possible to get a refund to that?

Pretty certain the answer is a resounding no as it is highly unlikely that somebody can not notice payments being taken accidentally for nearly 1.5 years.

But couldn't they just be able to check the records to see if this account was even active online?

Best thing to do is file a support ticket. do not use live chat, a long wait to only be informed to file a support ticket

What is the basis of claiming the money back? You agreed a contract with them for access to the game. You are the one who didn't bother to cancel it. They fulfillied their end by continuing to provide you with access. Your failure to use that access is not their resposibility. Sorry mate, but you are the author of your own misfortune.
