voice chat nag

Hi, sorry if this is a noob question, but every couple of seconds I keep hearing the game say "this voice chat made possible by beatbox," and its super annoying to the point where I just turn off all my game sounds when I play. Is beatbox some kind of ad ware that Star Trek installs like a lot of free Facebook games do and if so how do I take it off my computer?

Thanks.

Vivox. The voice chat isn't free - you get it ad supported as silver, or ad free as gold. You can disable it in options and kill the ads, which is fine because very, very few people actually use voice chat. Only two times I've heard somebody use it was one guy yelling at his cat and another guy who was good enough to hit his push to talk button when he flushed the toilet, apparently to demonstrate that he really was AFK and not just riding the group to free STF loot.

Wow, you were able to actually discern that a guy was yelling at his cat, and hear a toilet flush? The audio quality of the Vivox chat is so horrible that I'm surprised you had even that much success.

Anyway, yeah, pretty much nobody uses it anyway, so I'd say your best bet is to just disable it entirely. It's definitely not worth the $15 monthly ransom Cryptic wants from you to remove the nags.
