Vulcan D'Kyr
 

So, I'm playing an engineer. It's my only character and honestly, unless a miricle happens, it will always been my only character. I hate levelling anyway, so the idea of an alt makes me want to snap.

I know Engineers tank. I know the cruiser is a tanking ship and I know small amounts about how to tank in the game, but will learn more when I get to 50.

I understand that Engineers can also DPS, with the right set up. I really want to use the D'Kyr. I love the Vulcan culture and design and the chance to fly that ship is too much to pass up.

Is their a viable way to do DPS, in PvE or PvP, as an Engineer in a D'Kyr?

I can make a build for you with that ship.

That would be cool. As long as it's actually possible, I don't mind working it out myself, but I'm not one to look a space-gift-horse in the mouth.

It's a great ship for many things but good DPS is not one of them.

As long as it's viable, I don't really care if it's not top of the range. To make a topical sportball analogy, I don't mind being the backcup QB, as long as I get to the Superbowl.

Well, let's wait for what he comes up with. Engineer captain combined with only 6 weapons of D'Kyr make it tough.

I can take down the shields, then run away. Then come back when it's off cooldown.

cannons, turrets, rapid fire, directed energy modulation 1 & 2 is my best advice for a direction.

The easiest way for anyone in a science ship to do amazing DPS....

Make sure a BO has Feedback Pulse

Set AUX to 125

Fly to Borg Cube...


Watch as you out damage the rest of your team.


Also have beam overload, max out on weapon skills and you should be doing a decent amount of damage. This particular science ship is really good both in STF's and PVP. I'm a tactical officer however so I have things like attack pattern alpha, tactical team and going down fighting which are really great for boosting damage.
