Differences between 124 and 125 for power levels.
Title says it all really, I’m currently running 124/75 weapon power with 6/9 in 'Weapon Performance'. What I need to know is; what is the difference in DPS between 124 and 125 max power?
25 power = 100 % increase in DPS of the individual weapons base damage output, 1 power = 100/25 = 4% of listed energy weapon DPS, does this mean that I lose 4% dps, just from having 124 and not 125 power in weapons? I appreciate that my max power output fluctuates rapidly when I am using energy weapons, however; my current energy level will always be 1 less than if I started with 125/75 I also have the exact same with shield power, I’m running 124/65, with 6/9 in shield performance. I can get the skill points for shield power by taking 3 levels out of 'Starship Hull Plating' (9 down to 6) and putting them into 'Shield Performance' (6 up to 9), However which would give more defence? I can get the skill points for weapon power by taking 3 levels out of 'Energy Weapon Specialisation' (9 down to 6) and putting them into 'Weapon Performance' (6 up to 9), which would give more offence? Yes I know that I can just put an extra 5 base power in weapons and shields, but to do so would lose me 10 points in engine power, and a total loss of 8 power points as 125 is the hard cap. |
How did you get 124/75?
Even with the Borg console on an escort, the best I can get is 125/90. As for your question, the difference is not much. 50/50 is 100% of the listed damage on the weapon. I thought 100 would be 200% of your listed damage, and 125 would be 250% (or, 1 point = 2%). I have heard, however, that it is more like 75 subsystem power is 200%, 100 = 300%, and 125 = 400%. Frankly, I don't know which is correct, because there are too many other modifiers that are calculated in the damage. The hard cap is 125, everything over that is disregarded. What you can do, is go to orbiting space (such as, enter the Sol system) and look at the icons for your weapons in the weapons tray. They will tell you your weapon power levels after all the modifiers are in effect. Then, slide your power level from 125/80 and 124/75 and see how much of a difference is made. I'm guessing it won't be much. |

My 125/90 stats are unbuffed. |

According to the tooltip on the skills panel, 1 prw is about 3dps per weapon. I get the feeling that is incorrect though. I think the best way to check this, is to actually check it. Energy weapons have a fixed dmg, soo against the same target, with the same buffs, the weapon will only do one specific amount of dmg. I will check this when I go home after work tonight. |
