My Defiant Refit Build (Constructive Advice Welcome)

I recently dusted off some of my underuse Federation Characters and found myself enjoying my old Defiant Refit.

Iíve been out of the loop with Escorts for quite some time (Carriers Rule) and found myself struggling to update my old build.

This is the setup that I currently running

U.S.S. Aftermath (Tactical Captain)

Fore: 2 x DHC Mk Xii (Borg) Antiproton, Mk Xii (Borg) DBB and Mk Xii (Borg) Quantum Torp

Aft: 3 x Mk Xii (Borg) Turret Antiproton

4 Piece Borg set until I can get my Maco Shield

Commander Tac: TT1, CSV1, BO3 and CSV3
Lt.Commander Tac: TS1, APB1 and TS3
Ensign Tac: TT1
Lt.Eng: EPTS1 and ASIF
Lt. Sci: PH1 and TSS2

Iím thinking about tweaking my current BO setup to look like this:

Commander Tac: TT1, CSV1, BO3 and CRF3  for better single target DPS
Lt.Commander Tac: TS1, APB1 and TS3
Ensign Tac: THY1 TT is useless if your shields have been stripped bare
Lt.Eng: EPTS1 and ASIF
Lt. Sci: PH1 and TSS2

A few players in game suggested that I drop TS3 for HY3; however, TS3 has been paying the bills for me and I see no good reason to drop it.

Iíd also like to know which if any special C-Store consoles are seeing play on other Defiant Refits.

Iím currently using the Graviton Pulse Generator console (I got it for 500K) but itís more of a PVP based console but it does ok in PVE.

Iím pretty much only running Elite STF right now and donít really PVP anymore (well at least until thereís something new to do with PVP)

I also own the MVA but find that I never use its special ability.

Here's what I take for my STF Defiant build:

Cmdr Tac: TT1, CSV1, CSV2, AP-Omega3
LtCmdr Tac: TT1, Beam Target Shields Subsystem 2, Torp Spread 3
Lt. Eng: EPtS1, EPtS2
Lt. Sci: HE1, TBR1 <- Must-have for STF's
Ensign Tac: Torp Spread 1

Tractor Beam Repulsors is a must-have for escorts in elite STF's, pushing away big borg swarms to help your team meet bonus mission objectives. Use with Evasive Maneuvers for best effect.

I don't usually run Beam Overload with CRF nor CSV since it drops weapon power (-50 or so), thereby nerfing your ship cannon's damage output until you stop shooting to allow weapons power to recharge. Target Shield Subsystem has no such penalty and it works well will opening up shields for large torp salvos.

The Advanced Escort gives you a better Bridge Officer layout by swapping an ensign tac station with an ensign sci station. This can be used for Hazard Emitters1 or Science Team1 to help keep your ship alive.

The Fleet Escort and Gurumba variants can use Aux to Structural 1 to give you constant hull heals and resists every 15 seconds.

I have a Defiant Retrofit myself

I do a lot of ELITE STF space missions

I've been looking into using Tractor Repulsors for completing missions...

You say I can use an ability like Tractor Repulsor I, but I tried it recently and I was very confused with the results... I used the ability and it barely did anything to the enemy... so I have to use evasive manuevers after I engage the repulsor for it to work best?
