Overpowered Fed Ships, Oblivious Pilots

Begin troll thread: (Jk lol)

Lets see, where to begin....anyone reading the pvp forums lately can identify several threads with completely baseless accusations of all kind. This is OP, that is OP..... Nerf this because of that...So and so has no credibility due to the faction they are playing....Crimson cannot manage to snack and game at the same time....(which is actually just the nerf crimson needs, because he is OP) Complaints of consoles and deployables and glider this and FAW that. Those poor poor OP BOP pilots. And damn Pandas can't PuG for crap. ect ect...

i really can relate to many of these posts, as about a year ago i found myself wanting to say the same darn things. but here is the deal. i didn't. and the reason i didn't is because i came to realize that this game is constantly changing, and players join and leave everyday. which i see as a good thing.

Sure, some things start out plain ol' sucking, and some straight out the box just broken. (This statement applies to gear, powers, and players) And lets see, sometimes it takes cryptic 2 weeks to....well....2 years to fix things. (gear and powers) We are just going to have to live with that folks, i don't think that is going to change anytime soon. (and hopefully people don't leave because of it)

I named this post *^^* for a specific reason. because in 2 years of playing this game and really enjoying its PVP, however limited, it is the 1 constant that i find. the simple fact is, that the average fed only gamer is just a below average PVP player. This is partly due to the horribly easy PVE action that we are provided with, and partly due to the fact that many of the Klingon players that Que up to PVP have been doing this for 12-18 months, at least.

3 Simple facts to understand about this game:

1. Feds have the best escorts (MVAE, Defiant)
2. Feds have the best Cruisers (Odyssey)
3. Feds have the best Science ship (Intrepid)

3 more Simple facts to understand about this game:

1. Consoles are unbalanced, have long cooldowns, and most of the time are nothing more than a neusance
2. Powers will continue to be broken, and new gear will continually be borked at first.
3. Teamwork is truely the only Overpowered thing in the game

I call on all me fellow STO PVP'rs to please consider these things before raging in zone chat, or on the forums. We are all here because we love Trek. Correct me if i'm wrong here....but if we were all here for the gaming experience vs. other mmo's i think we would all need a head check by some dudes in white coats.

So if you find someone who you would say is using or abusing a known broken power or piece of gear, just ignore them. eventually they will be left without their crutch. Let those players think what they will, and you just keep your head down, use what works for you, and focus on your piloting. hopefully you will see them again on the battlefield..... without their crutch....and you will crush them with your superior battlefield awareness and piloting.

Have fun, Kill bad guys

I agree, I get tired of seeing the same things over and over in the PVP forums. Can't we leave the poor BOP's alone? The Battle Cloaking, Glass hulled ships need more love.

Broken/OP ships/skills/consoles don't make players powerful. They simply give the already good players a little boost for the lulz because the good players best understand how to exploit them to their fullest potential. Good players will continue to be good players no matter what balance changes are made. That is what makes them good; they learn the system and ADAPT.

On another note, I have to disagree with one point:

KDF definitely has the best cruisers... Negh'Var > all T5 cruisers and Bortasqu > Odyssey besides the turn rate.

saucer seperation oddy. its like a damn excelsior. and i think i seen a guy the other day with the little fighter that comes off the oddy + saucer seperation. it may have been from 2 ships, as i thought you couldnt do it, but if it did happen, thats like an excelsior with 2 pets. and i do like the negh'var, damn fine ship. but something about the sci oddy with the toys gives it the edge for me.

Sadly the fear of them has long outwieghed the truth.

on a side note, Steve Hale, stop shooting my Bortie healboat in the CnHs- I'm only here to help. :D

It's easier said than done. I'm ashamed of how angry I get at some guys, especially the ones who know better. I can tell you that here today, since they broken or over did fixes on some of these consoles, I've still died just fine but it's been so much less frustrating.
