Bridge functionality

Just throwing an idea out for everyone to think about. In regards to the bridge of your ship, I've read several threads suggesting functionality improvements. For instance at each console--tactical, engineering, and science--being able to pull up information. Like tactical you could pull information on different chip classes like weapons, shields, and abilities. But what about inputting control of the ship like in Star Trek Bridge Commander? For instance being able to manuever your ship and fire your weapons from the main viewer and also switching to an exterior view if desired? I just feel there really isn't any value to the bridge currently.

This question was asked earlier.
As devs said, its totally impossible, because when you visit bridge your ship disappears. While you are on the bridge, you have no ship technically, you are on the map named "****-bridge". Its game engine limitation and to change it, they will have to rewrite it from scratch.
