Night of the Comet - Bepi 113 impossible?

Just wondering if this is a known bug, I've flown my ship through every single portal twice over now, and each time my Science Officer tells me that I've failed and have to start again. I didn't fail, I just saw myself fly through the middle of every marker. But the game seems to have decided that it doesn't want me to make it myself, and so I end up having to use the autopilot feature that pops up after your second failed attempt.

My brother managed to do it in his 2nd attempt, but I had to use the autopilot as I failed to maneuver properly. It's just your eyes playing with you :p

I managed it manually last night. I have no idea how, as I was zigzagging everywhere (couldn't do it first time I played the mission). Was sure I missed the third one. After I got through the last one, I lost control and smashed into the sun. Luckily, I had told my crew to put Factor 1000 Sunblock on.

Its possible to do (just highly difficult). After about the 2nd or 3rd "Fail" you'll have the option to use "Autopilot", and continue.

JUst dont go up or down.Use only A and D.The ship only has to turnleft few times ,not up or down.

Its easy if you mouse steer towards what you are looking at. Havent tried it though in the space whales as I normally do more maneuverable ships. A Vo'quv or a Bortas could be interesting doing it.

Doing it manually is possible in a Vo'Quv... I did it, once. Though my computer is old enough that I get 5-6 fps in that system, adding an additional level of difficulty...

Hmm. I've never ever failed the slingshot. I go in with full impulse engaged which does make the handling a little lighter. Even my oddy whale has no trouble!

In addition to this, I set my camera angle to "chase", which gives me slightly better ship control.

Hit first one at HALF impulse
