what should I change in my dreadnought build?
This is what I have so far :
in terms of skills here is what I have where:
Funds at my disposable :3.3m
Thinking about upgrading all the phasers to the next level and after that I dont know
Deflector: Assimilated Deflector Array <-- do plan on replacing asap
Engine: Aegis Hyper-Impulse Engines
Shield: M.A.C.O. Resilient Shield Array Mk XII
Tetraburnium Hull Armor Mk XI
Neutronium Alloy Mk XI
EPS Flow Regulator Mk XI (x2)
Science Consoles :
Universal - Assimilated Module
Tactical Consoles :
Phaser Relay Mk XI (x3)
Lieutenant Tactical Station:
Beam Array: Fire at Will I
Attack Pattern Beta I
Ensign Tactical Station:
Tactical Team I
Commander Engineering Station:
Emergency Power to Weapons I
Emergency Power to Shields II
Emergency Power to Shields III
Eject Warp Plasma III
Lt. Commander Engeering Station:
Engeering Team I
Reverse Shield Polarity I
Emergency Power to Weapons III
Lieutenant Science Station:
Hazard Emitters I
Transfer Shield Strength II
As far as the equipment you have already, I’d move the EPS Flow Regulator into your inventory, and then move the assimilated module there in its place. In the now open Science Slot, put a Field Generator for a +18% to your overall shield capacity. This is all assuming you went with the Engineer Captain who gets Nadion Inversion and EPS power Transfer to help with power consumption issues. If not, leave the Flow Regulator as it will help in overall DPS.
Looking at your skill tree I can see you went with a Tactical Captain. I’d remove all points in Starship Threat Control. It is a waste in my opinion. Just remember, you’re in a Cruiser! I’d re-do the Skill Tree to reflect the fact that you want to be able to soak a lot of damage up! I’d also invest at least three points in defense against power draining abilities. Maybe someone else will help you with the Skill setup.
As for my personal Bridge Officer layout, I’ll share it with you below: My build is more for tanking and dealing damage over time. I also have a nice FAW build that is viable in a beam boat. However, the below is my preferred play style.
Tactical Lieutenant: Tactical Team I, Attack Pattern Delta or Attack Pattern Beta
Tactical Ensign: Tactical Team I
Commander Engineer: Emergency power to shields I, Auxiliary to Structural integrity field I, Reverse Shield Polarity II, Direct Energy Modulation III
Lieutenant Commander Engineer: Emergency power to shields I, extend Shields I, Reverse Shield Polarity II
Science Lieutenant: Transfer Shield Strength I, Hazard Emitters II
added all of my stats excluding ground
Is this for PvE/Elite STFs or PvP?
added what each of my officers have in terms of skills I am an engineer captin
My only other advice is to re-do your Engineer Officers Abilities to specialize a bit more! As it is now, you are a bit all over the place with your Setup. If you want more weapons power to help with DPS, you can actually lower your base Shield Power Setting, so long as you rotate between Emergency Power to Shields III. Think about it for a second. You can get, 30% damage reduction (not resistance but reduction), +36 shield additional power setting and +18% shield regeneration rate; you can get all of this at all times by running two copies of Emergency Power to Shields III. That means if you can run your shields at a power setting of about 80 to get 125 since you are going to skill in Shield Performance.
Now, since you are dropping Tactical Team I, use two copies of engineering team I. You have no real other option. I’d then go with Extend Shields I and RSP I. Try that out and see if you like it. If you don't run Extend Shields I, use Aux to Structural! It gives you hull resistance!
Run at least 80 in your base power to shield setting on Defense with high aux power. This will make you Tank a bit better. As for dealing damage, FAW + APB + DEM will do well. However, you are not an ESCORT! So stay tanking! When you are not the target of an Enemy, go ahead and run high weapon power!
For all around survivability focus, switch to Borg Engine and Keep your Borg Deflector.
More on Borg gear in a bit.
I'd rid of them, at least one of them should go for sure.
I personally use 3x Neutroniums, and leave the 4th slot to swap various Cstore consoles.
But you can use a mix of Hull Armors if you prefer.
Get a Field Generator (+18% shield capacity) instead.
You can actually stack those, and add 2 of them and move your Borg Console to Engineering if you wanted to.
Comm Eng: EPTW 1 > Eng Team 2 > EPTS 3 > AuxSIF 3 or Eject Warp Plasma 3
Lt Comm Eng: EPTW 1 > RSP 1 > EPTS 3
This lets you set your initial power settngs to always have specific consistent power levels for weapons and shields, as well as shield regen and shield resistances instead of them constantly alternating between periods of high power and relatively lower power.
Something else is your devices.
I would run the following devices:
1 Stack Shield Batters
1 Stack Aux Batteries
1 Subspace Field Modulator (From FE Mission, Devidian Arc)
1 Optional (I have the red matter capacitor)
