With the advent of the new forums and my original thread beiing archived, I felt the need to create this one.


Welcome to the Community Starship Design Contest.

This is a monthly contest



Contest Theme and Rules:


The Federation needs a new Fighter Craft to replace the Peregrine Attack Fighter . The Admirals want you, the Fleetyard Engineers to take on the task.


Redhawk Class Attack Fighter

Crew: 2
Weapons: 3 Fore, 1 Aft
Bridge Officer Stations: 1 Ensign Universal
Console Upgrades: 3 Tactical, 1 Engineering
Base Turn Rate: 36 degrees per second
Impulse Modifier: 0.35
Special Tactical Console: Open


====Rules====

Art must be your own work
All designs can be 3D models or 2D renders
No age limit or minimum
Open to all nations

====Submissions====

Artists must send in a minimum of 3 sketches accompanied by no more than 3 final renders

====Prize====

2000 CP (hey I'm not rich)


All entries must be in NLT July 31st, 2012 23:59 PST (-8 GMT)

Community judging ends August 6, 2012 @ 23:59pm - PST (-8GMT)

Is there any way to enter this without the use of something powered by facebook? I'm boycotting ever using facebook again because of their support of a certain political bill that infringes on peoples rights.

EDIT: nvm I just found the sign up part that doesn't involve facebook

I was thinking of creating one of those free forums. They allow BBCode image hosting. In fact I will do that this weekend and change the link. :biggrin:

Because I will need some sort of Polling system for the community to vote with.

Is the original thread's contest still on? Or will this replace it?:eek: Gosh Darn it, I've spent about 3 days on my entry, and 10 hours with art for my "big idea thinker" brother. O well, at least I designed a fighter for his carrier cruiser. Great idea for a contest by the way, it wou;d be pretty cool to do this every othe month.:smile:

I will certainly try to my brother. I am sorry for the change. I thought I should have a theme. The original thread is off. Keep your design though. Because I am changing the theme every month. Sometimes I will have 'open' designs where you can submit anything. :smile:

Actually, Nagus made one of those a few days ago, I'm certain he'd let you use it!

Would it be cheating if I entered?

You'd have to show designs of all your current stuffs then we can say if you are eligable or not.:biggrin:

No not at all, especially if you enter a design for a future ship :biggrin:

In fact I'd be honored if one of the Dev's joined in. It would be a great learning experience for us all.

I remember doing contest's on 99designs.com and having my a@# handed to me. I sure did learn a lot about designs and customer needs.

Hey anyone think 1 aft weapon is overkill for a fighter?
