Anti-matter spread?
What the hell is wrong with Anti-matter spread? It was made to confuse targets like the Borg cube. Why did the Devs take that away from the game? It not only cost us a console slot but it takes too long to recharge, making it almost a one time use deal. If you are going to give us something that takes away our console space , we should get double the performance not the opposite. It is especially needed to get out of the grasp of the Cubes and any other player.
Make anti-matter spread live up to its Star Trek canonism. |
You do realize that you're talking about one of the single most powerful c-store consoles in the entire game when it comes to PvP, right? Not only is it an AoE Jam / Scramble that can be put on escorts, but it stacks, which I believe that Scramble doesn't (or at least I've never had multiple active scrambles affecting me, I have with AMS).
If anything, the AMS console needs a drastic nerf for the sake of PvP balance. |
Pvp. Teams chain 5 AMS's You can not attack anyone but your team, you can not heal yourself, u can not see your enemy for 20 seconds, then 20 sec off, 20 sec on, 20 sec off, 20 sec on, 20 sec off, and with 5, there is enough to keep this constant. AMS is a joke, In pve it does nothing, in pvp it destroys teams because they cant see the enemy. Ever been AMSed during an alpha, i wasted my alpha cause i cant shoot the enemy. AMS should have never been put in the game.

Admittedly, it is not as effective in PvE as some would like. It doesn't do so well against the big stuff, but does wonders in Borg encounters when you're eyeballs deep in probes and sphere t-beaming you like the proverbial tarbaby. I suppose it would be too much for you to manage, being concerned only for yourself, but there are mechanics I've seen used that would resolve the AMS spam without damaging the inherent mechanic of the AMS module itself. Once a player has been affected by an AMS module, add a cooldown before that player can be affected again. 20 seconds of effect, a minute or two of immunity to the effect. I would imagine it easy to justify, given that most people figuring out their sensors are flawed would work out a way to override it eventually. |

My complaint is the fact that I can't use it against the Enemy it was designed to confuse, the CUBE. You can confuse most players but there are some who have buffs to negate that affect. |
'just use science team.'
Look. Almost everything has a counter. But there's no way you can have a counter for EVERYTHING, and even if you load up every counter you can, great, now you have no power to DO anything. Any ability that can utterly shut you down, consistently, easily, unless you happen to have the counter is not good balance. (that said, in PvP it's a good idea to have a variety of officers set up so you can switch abilities to meet challenge) |
anti-matter spread?Does this mean nutellas hazelnut spread is not their only flavor?

This power works fine as is.

Best way to help the team when sensors are scrambled or Jammed is just to blow them up then they can respawn and clear the Jam.
