If you're authorized for 'Tribble' access, then there should be a 'Public Test (Tribble)' tab in the Launcher that you need to select...

If you don't have a 'Tribble' launcher tab, then that means you've missed a step, and need to start over by first reading the Tribble FAQ (which contains all the instructions on how to get 'Tribble' access...)

Hey Hi,

When you start your launcher click options before entering your password,
Uncheck Fast Launch
Enter login and password
On the next screen, it will look for a patch then you need to click Engage to start playing, but BEFORE you need to select the server (Shard) you want to play in
Select Tribble, click patch, once the patch is over, click Engage.
Enjoy.

I tried to join the test server. But when I clicked on the link mentioned above it says I have no characters to transfer. But I do have several characters. I double checked to make sure that I am logged in and I am.

*Update*
I figured out that if you click on options from the launcher, you can choose to show all games. This enables a drop down menu that shows the different shards. When you select a test server it will download the required files. I think it automatically copies some files from your regular STO folder because I was up and running in about 15-20 minutes. I have a pretty good broadband connection though.
