Allow us to see upcoming fleet projects

With the current fleet system, officers in fleets can set up the upcoming projects and see what is up next. This creates an unfair situation in fleets as officers know exactly what they need to gether and where they need to click to donate it when the timer expires. In a system where projects in larger fleets are filled up with a few seconds, this is quite an advantage! Luckily my feelt is quite open about whats up next, but it's certainly an area that can cause conflict where people are having to snipe each other at donating in larger fleets.

Is there any chance the system could be changed to that all members in the fleet can see what fleet project is next in the queue? Not only will this allow everyone to know what to gether, it will also actually help members in fleets warn thier officers if they can see there is no project lined up once one completes.

I really can't see any reason why only officers in fleets should be allowed to see what projects are up next (I understand the permissions in reagrds to setting them). Surely this would be a pretty quick thing to implement as well, since the code is almost there already.

This is where Fleet Politics come in -- since the officers (read: fleet ranks with the right permission settings) are able to see the projects, Fleet Leaders, and the fleet as a whole, may want to agree on setting some ground rules for donating. I'll pass along the feedback, but I think you answered your own question in your post :)

Cheers,

Brandon =/\=

Yeah, you guys keep saying this. However, if your players arent satisfied with the current mechanics, are you willing to change them in response to feedback? This issue was discussed at length on Tribble but you guys just kept pushing that same response.

I agree on this one. Also giving option to choose who can contribute and who can't creates an unfair situation.Higher rank players can limit star trek online's content for some players.Futher more calling contribution ranking list a "Leaderboard" creates a rivalry and for some people makes it easy to use the limit contributions rule because they can't handle the fact that this and this person is so high on the list.

Someone's putting together as spreadsheet of the projects. You may want to skim that:

And if that doesn;t apply, please forgive me as I;m argry and tired and fed up with some of the folks around here.

To translate this for those of us who don't do politics.

"This is how we intend to force the very large fleets to break apart. So that the members reform into our vision of the 25 to 50 member fleet."

Please note this is what I read between the lines when you guys bring out that Fleet Politics stuff. and is only my opinion.

The solution we tried on Tribble (and one someone linked to here in this thread) was to try to make a spreadsheet document that people could look at, but at the end of the day, its a cumbersome method that is labour intensive and to be honest really not needed if the developers simply let 'everyone' see the upcoming projects, instead of just fleet leadership.

This feature is going to do more harm than good at the end of the day if it causes friction in fleets. Even though people get to keep thier fleet credits when they leave a fleet, if I fleet splinters (like what happens in WoW alot when there are disagreements in guilds) the progress of the fleet starbase is not kept. This for many could be the difference between staying in the game or just quitting. surely it's better to tweak the system so there is less chance for disagreement in fleets. Like i said, I see absolutly no reason why this kind of information should be hidden from a fleets general population, when all it does at the end of the day is gives people an unfair advantage depending on thier leadership position in a fleet and with so many people getting frustrated at the time gated nature of contributing, this doesn't help at all.

Yeah, no one in Cryptic thought making it a First Come First Serve free-for-all wouldn't be a problem? Fleet projects will more rip fleet unity apart than help it.

It's not 'let's all pull together and get this done', it's 'I'll fill the easy stuff right after I post the Project, you losers grind out the Fleet Marks for me'.

Top guy in our fleet...225K
Second guy... 50k
Yeah, a 4.5 times difference is normal.

How about instead of starting the timer to completion when all mats are filled, have it where every hour in that 24hr countdown, or whatever CD the project has, more mats needs are opened. So if it needs 200 Provisions, then 8-10 can be contributed every hour. That way one guy sitting there (or posting the project) just can't plop down 200 instantly no one else gets to contribute.

OR something more fair, but horribly difficult to pull off I would guess, would be to give everyone something like the account bank where you put your contributions and then when a project comes up it pulls 'equally' from all members who contributed that material.

Its get even better...
I was in the top ten of contributors within my fleet. Even though I invested my time and effort, I was told that - If the fleet ships needed to be allocated, I was at the bottom of the list. Fleet was made up of over 400 people. Once they hit tier one this morning, I was not even going to get a chance to buy a ship.

I have the modules, zen, and fleet marks.

I lost.
