"we plan to stick with the account-wide unlock approach."

Q: Are you planning to change other ships to work this way?
A: No. For normal gameplay ships, we plan to stick with the account-wide unlock approach.

one word: Fleetships

Obviously they are not normal gameplay. However, you should be aware that Cryptic is famous for doing exact opposite of they are saying. It is not long ago when the CEO of Cryptic said that micro transactions are the greatest evil or stupid...or something like that.....I'm pretty sure if you Google it, you can find it :-)

Actually... I did not really get why C-Store purchases were account-wide unlocks anyway.

I mean, obviously I enjoy that I can buy a ship once and get it for every toon. But if there was an option to buy a C-Store ship at, for example, half price, which would only unlock it for one character... I'd probably choose that one most of the time.

Because when C-Store was launched the game was not F2P.

sophlogimo 07-19-2012 01:15 AM

Well, this has obviously changed. There would be a lot less fuss about the fleet ships if you could also buy C-Store ships per character at a discount.

"Cryptic Studio?s Jack Emmert: Microtransactions are the biggest bunch of nonsense. I like paying one fee and not worrying about it ? like my cellphone. The world?s biggest MMO isn?t item based, even though the black market item GDP is bigger than Russia ? microtransactions make me want to die."

:o a few years later, C-Store was added to Cryptic games :P

lol

p.s. Jack Emmert would be unemployable outside of Cryptic imo.

Was it ? Well I do not exactly remember, even tho I'm playing since beta. Anyway, my point is "Words are Winds".
