Terran Assault cruiser
 

I opened one of the Terran Assault cruisers from the lockbox, but the ship has the Star cruiser skin.

It was to be that way. Everything is fine.

You got exactly what you bought. The "mirror" ships use the opposite costume of their counterparts. That's why they're mirror universe ships.

this is all wrong.
mirror image is just reverse image of object not totaly different thing.
so in they idea you look yourself in mirror and see Brad Pitt in that logic.
Mirror ships only must have different BO console layouts not different skins

I agree, the Assault Cruiser should look like an Assault Cruiser ... but fly upside down, or backwards.

More like looking in the mirror and seeing your sibling or cousin. Unless Brad Pitt is your cousin or sibling, in which case the analogy is spot-on.

I just don't see what's so hard to understand about the mirror ships. If you're confused at all about what an item is, look it up on Stowiki.

By that logic, the mirror Defiant in DS9 should have looked like a runabout. Except it didn't.

The description from Info states that the Assault Cruisers look like Star Cruisers, and vice versa.
