I want to play your foundry mission!
 

I've started a new game-cast. I'm making my way through an STO level every day. Problem is I'll run out of Cryptic content in ~100 days (it's approximate because a couple of the missions are a little long). So I would like to have a nice selection of Foundry projects to play through.

Things to keep in mind:

• I talk throughout the show about everything. So I'm not going to hold typos and logic errors against you. Because I'll just be skimming the text.
• The mission needs to take ~30 minutes to run through assuming someone doesn't read all of the text. Again, I'll be just skimming the major points.
• I will be willing to run 40 minute missions, but nothing longer. I may change this rule in the future, but I'm trying to keep everything within two parts.
• I am going to try and run the Featured missions while they are featured. I would love it if I could talk to the creator via Skype while I'm running it. Consider it extra publicity.
• Missions must be out of the review stage. That way I'm less likely to run into any game killing bugs.
• Missions can be for either faction.
• Keep them clean; I run a family-friendly show.
• I'm especially looking for creative uses of the system: custom buildings, puzzles, unique gameplay, etc

This show is about a week old so the format and style will change as I move forward. But the basic content will not. I will play through STO content and that includes yours. Subscribe to the show to keep track of what is coming up.

I'll come up with a grading system when I get closer to actually doing this and I will post that grading system here so people understand why I gave the number of stars I did.

I like the sound of this! Doing missions with commentary is fun, just look at what BroadcastUGC does over at StarbaseUGC. The thing is, I think playing a mission in 20 minutes is extremely aggressive... not sure how practical it is, even if you're skimming dialogue. You might want to try some runs with missions first just to see how long it takes you.

That was a typo. I meant to put in 30 minutes but I messed up. I'm trying to keep my videos to 15-20 minutes each and so a 30 minute mission would allow me to make two 15-minute videos.


BroadcastUGC does them live, I believe. Mine are prerecorded. Either way, can't have too much publicity. :D

I have one mission out there now, I would love your review. As I'm a relatively new foundry author I think this could help me get better. If your interested send me a PM in game @ren_larreck, missions name is Home Sweet Home, fed side. It does have a couple of errors after the Season 6 update, that I'll repair as soon as the Foundry editor is back online. i don't have Skype but I do have Teamspeak and can be there with you to discuss it while your playing it.

If you think you'd like a Doctor Who crossover into Star Trek, then you could try out 'A Good Ship Goes To War' It's under 30 minutes and also has a space interior map within a futuristic Borg-conquered world.

It is a shuttle mission however. Challenging on a shuttle- though fairly easy if you play with an escort. I wouldn't try it with a large vessel- as some of the space interior maps can be pretty tight.

I'll add these to the list. Don't worry, I'll wait a few weeks after Foundry editing goes live before I start running them. I have my own Foundry missions to fix. :P

As far as I could tell, my mission stayed intact. There was one or two invisible objects that are called invisible objects when clicked on but nothing that ruins the game in any way.

Haven't had time to check my other missions yet though. Here's hoping that it's the same.

I will start recording these probably once I finish the Klingon arc and intersperse these in on Fridays. I'll call them "Foundry Fridays" or something like that.
