We need votekick for Fleet Events

I was trying to do the Vault Event today, and I ended up in a queue that would fill up, and then wait for the host to start.

... Five minutes later I am still waiting for the host to start.

So I leave the queue and re-join. Oh no. Its the same host as before.

Everyone else in the queue is raging at this guy, telling him to start the match, and he is ignoring all of us. I sat in the queue for over 20 minutes and finally reported him for griefing everyone doing the event.

First off, I can't add the guy to ignore because it only shows your captain's name in the event queue. There aren't any @handles on there so I can't ignore the guy since I don't know his account name.

Secondly, WHY don't we have a votekick option? One griefer ruined half of a whole one-hour event for every single player trying to finish the event at that time. How is this even allowed to happen?

The event queue system is heavily bugged, chances are it wasn't even the person you are mad at.

But I don't agree, vote kick systems are usually very stupid, people find stupid reasons to kick people. IE: In Mass Effect 3 I get kicked because of my score, regardless of the fact that I am well geared and able to do xyz difficulties. But /logic fails elitists, so this vote kick system will only encourage elitism and trolls. The two generally go in the same category.

I'm not a fan of "vote to kick"... that kind of system tends to be easily abused. For example, you go into Federation Fleet Alert. You have four Vice Admirals and a Captain.* The four Vice Admirals kick the Captain before the game even begins. Why? The Captain isn't level 50 and "won't do enough damage."

There are people who will do that, as well as people who will vote to kick others for exceedingly silly reasons. "He killed more guys than me." "I don't like his ship." We don't need another way for players to be abused for these reasons.

*I've gone into matches like this on tactical. Luckily on the last one I was doing enough damage that the team decided to keep my escort healed as much as possible.

Yes I would happily kick the Captains the Lieutnants Commanders and the Lieutnants out, but until this happens I will just leave the event.

Low levels joining I consider borderline-griefing because they are just leeching of the work of the others and make it harder for everyone to complete the event.

And they would like to kick out the useless leeching VA's
(and there are some of them)

I've seen a few VA's go in and sit at the spawn idle, apparently hoping the rest of the team will do the work and earn the marks for them. I've also seen lower levels doing that. So not only are they depriving the team of another VA just by being there and nerfing the loot, by not even participating they're denying the team the tiny bit of damage they could have contributed.

But I don't think vote kicking is the way to go. As others have pointed out it is a mechanic that is far too easily used to grief players for no justifiable reason. I think they really need to segregate the levels. Keep the ranks together in the public queue and scale the enemies to that. Private queues could remain available to mixed levels.

you want an all VA team

premake it

This - definitely!

Played the Colony invasion earlier and there was some VA idiot who shot at a few Breen at the beginning of the mission and subsequently did nothing else (aside from clicking 'need' on select items).

I've said it before and will say it again - I'd rather have a lower-level player who actually shoots at things than a high level one who does nothing.
