First two KDF captains, what with what?

Pretty much the topic, I'm making 2 KDF chars, and I'd like to know what type for each and to go with Raptor/Raider/Warship for each? Note, one of them will wind up piloting a Vo'Quv at max rank, so, enlighten me. Note, this is more for solo PVE fun, so I figure anything'll work, but I'd like to hear thoughts and commentary.

For a Vo'Quv, a science officer is a good choice, with an engineer being second best.

For a raider, I would recommend a tactical officer, as your sniping ability will be best as a tac, with the ability to inflict extremely high amounts of damage when decloaking, and then cloak again when your alpha strike is over.

Ok, so, it was suggested to be then to level up a Sci in the various Bird of Prey ranks?

That is a good choice, however I sometimes find if you're prepared to forego the science boff abilities a battlecruiser can work alright.

Anyone else wanna make suggestions as to what type of captain with what type of ship? I'm open to all ideas.

BoP and a Vo'quv. Raptor is just an escort with a cloak and a lame extra tac ensign, and if you want to try a KDF cruiser you can purchase a Mirror Battlecruiser off the Exchange for just a few hundred grand. Seems kind of a waste to use the ships are that just 'more of the same' anyways. On the other hand, BoP is so insanely nimble and you can do weird things with it like half sci half tac, and is just so amusing to play with. And a Vo'quv lets you play with a carrier without having to hit the C-Store.

Bortasqu Command Cruiser with an Engineer Captain

Stupid amounts of survival - park up 3 km from a borg cube and pew pew away all cannons and turrets blazing death.

Borg doesn't have have the fire power to kill you....

You heal too fast...

ON the KDF side, TAC cruisers are mean Fed Grinding Machines. You can find lots of different builds for many playstyles over here:

For a Carrier, you definitely want to go Sci or Eng. A Tac will be too squishy. Eng will make you a fortress but not add too much to the offensive capabilities. Sci will add some tankiness, not as much as eng, but you will be able to debuff your target significantly with a maxed out Sensor Scan.
