The game is becoming very stale.

The game is becoming very stale now,and needs freshening up.
Whats needed is.
Lots of new episode missions.
Substantially increased rewards on all current episode missions,by that i mean purple grade Mk Xll drops. The same goes for all stf's,Pve,Pvp and all other events too.
Bigger and better chances with the lock boxes.
I just hope that season 7 and 8 are going to be alot better, with perhaps less of a need to spend real money on this game.
I would like to see building times and respawns shortened big time, they are far too long.
A new type of ground weapon against the borg would good where they can not adapt to it.
A new system where the duty officers do alot more of the work,so we don't have to do it.

It's now a game of grind and lottery. They are exploiting an addiction that the average Trekkie has for all things Star Trek. By that I mean that the average Trekkie has no limit on how much they will spend on something if it is Star Trek related. This is why Cryptic keeps cramming the lock box lottery scam down our throats. People are dropping hundreds of dollars, with little remorse, for the extremely small chance that they will get the latest very rare shiny. To Cryptic, it is completely successful. Why change that?

On the plus side, Season Seven is supposedly due out next month.

"Supposedly" :P

Yes, because nothing says fresh and invigorating like handing out max level rewards which gives people nothing to work for and taking all of the challenge out of the main bad guys of the game.

Good ideas.....to drive people away quicker. Your asking to have all of the work taken out of the game and want to be handed everything....wow...just wow...thats probably where you are is from WoW...want super casual everything handed to you.

It is all working as intended.

not only from the start of F2P, you had nothing to actually challenge you, besides PVP and STFs
They changed one part...made it grindy and took out the reward from the other one.

the way you are rewarded in this game is by spending more money, for a chance to get something...disturbing.
Or you do easy as hell missions over and over and over, again for a chance to get something.

so either you dump ridiculous amounts of money to play the game, or you spend hours ov doing repetitive things. some are even just klicking around...doff missions, those offer no challenge to a sane mind at all.

when i first heard about the game, i was so excited. i thought that it would be like 25th anniversary or judgement rites. A mix of space combat with ground missions where your goal is to solve some mysteries or riddles. i mean the space combat does not disappoint...but there is too much focus on actual combat in ground missions. Sure some combat is nice, but as in the shows, it should be moderated atleast for the FED. Klingons should be able to solve anything with their fists.

i was expecting an action adventure as ground missions, but it is one of the lamest RPG combat systems.

i can see that the feature episodes already tried to go into that direction and i appreciate it, but missions like nukara dissapoint in that regard and the lottery lootbox they offer too.

i still play it anyway, and will continue, since i'm a Trekker and the game is for free. But will i ever invest money into it? No, there is not enough encouragement and sense to do so. if i want to spend 20 ? on a lottery game...i play the actual lottery, much greater chances of winning something anyway.

Sometimes, I wonder just how long some of these people who moan and whine about the game being stale have actually been playing for. I'd be willing to bet that more than most of them have been playing for at least more than 4 months.

Protip: Every game gets stale after a while. Only the few and extremely well done games ever remain fresh for longer than the general average, and, wait for it, STO was never and never claimed to be such a game.

I for one love this game and can find fun in doing other things than just getting caught up in whether or not my ship stacks up in PVP or if I can grind out the most amount of perfect STF runs in a day or whatever else.

Season 6, the season that promised tholians, fleet bases, and some muchly needed endgame content In reality it's nothing more than a giant grindfest, with the same old sh#@ but a different skin, and while Fleetbases were entertaining at first, the amount of resources just for a simple regular project are ridiculous the second you get out of tier 0. The 200k proves the money sink point people have been making since before season 6 officially launched and over all for those of us that tested season 6 even a couple of times on tribble it already got boring.

The cold hard fact is that Cryptic is painfully incapable of producing content viable for the time span in between season releases. When the 2800 series was released 1 episode per week there was something to look forward to, something to change up the grind of dil or stf gear everyday, since then having something to look forward to has been severely lacking.

I completely agree that this game seriously needs some refreshing to make it more entertaining to play.

Holodecks: Add a holodeck to the ship interiors, social maps, and make them functional. Simply put, the foundry missions are buried in the ui, and either mostly forgotten about or simply dismissed. A simple addition of adding the anticipation of going to the holodeck to start a foundry mission, the increased efficiency of a new foundry mission ui, and the simplistic joy of going to the holodeck and actually activating the lastest holonovel. If you really need a monetary reason for doing so, add some holodeck costume packs to the c-store.

Mini-games: Dabo is fun for awhile, but GPL is pretty useless overall. Throughout ST: TNG and Voyager there were several episodes where the crew were playing poker, tongo, blackjack, and several other casino style games. Simply creating a social casino style map with the addition of these mini games and the ability to spend and win EC would greatly add to the playability. It's not grinding if it's fun, and the worldwide explosion in popularity of poker games like texas hold'em shouldn't be overlooked. The addition of these mini games would really really add some much needed distraction from the lack of fresh content while new content is being developed.

Dynamic content: somewhat branching from the mini-games concept would be the addition of shuttle races. Even with the map sizes being somewhat smaller the scale size of a shuttle would still allow for a good length shuttle race, and give us another reason to dust off the highly under utilized shuttles. Bets could be placed with EC, Dil, GPL, with prizes won in whatever currency you bet in, or ever better yet if you place 1st 10 times you can refine 500 more dil a day, 20 times 1000 more dil 1000 times 5000 more dil a day. Yes that would be adding another grind into the game, but atleast the prize would be worth the work.
