About Reverse Shield Polarity

Ive run with this ability as one of my mainstay Engi abilities and have never left space dock without it ever since I could use it, but here is my question....if you find yourself in a position where your surviving REALLY well in STFs without it, do you really have much of a need for it? That being said, for a Lt. Cmdr slot, which of these Boff engi abilities would be the best replacement; Auxiliary to Structural, Directed Energy Modulation, Eject Warp Plasma or Extend Shields?

there is no reason to run with anything other the one copy of RSP 1, ever.
green diapers are like training wheels.

EWP1 is nice for CC, Extend Shields is the best heal in game hands down.
Eng team three should be one default Lt.Cmd slot on most eng cruisers builds (like 99%).

Heres the thing, im running with the following abilities in this order for my Lt. Cmdr slot Boff, Emergency Power to Weapons (may change soon), Emergency Power to Shields and currently Reverse Shield Polarity, while another Engi boff has another Emergency Power to Shield ability, while one of my Science officers runs with Transfer Shield Strength I and I also have Polarize Hull. So im already reasonably durable even without Reverse Shield Polarity as the highest rank skill on my Engi, so what would be the best thing to replace that ability out of the abilities ive listed above?

Bump? anyone?

EPtS and 2x Tacteam 1... Perfect replacement for RVSP on a escort... WITH RVSP... never die.

Im using a Science Ship, not an escort or Cruiser. This science ship im using allows me to fly with 2 Emergency Power to Shields, a Transfer Shield Strength and a Science Team as well as Polarize Hull. Will all that defensive ability isnt Reverse Shield Polarity a bit on the overkill side?

RVSP is probably the best fall-back ability in game, but if you're looking for something else, if you're using cannons and can get your hands on this guy, Directed Energy Modulation not only allows shield puncturing, but also works as a great counter to the almighty Plasmonic Leech. (Combine that wish RVSP and Feedback Pulse for great hilarity!) :D

Aux to Structural is a good one to go with. If you have Emergency Power to Aux, or lots of Aux batteries, you can get rid of Engie Team, and never miss it at all. (Aux to Structural doesn't activate cooldown on Tac Team ;)) Also, if you're in the mood for offense or mobility, you can get Aux to Dampeners which highly underrated, but incredibly useful ability that boosts damage resistance and turn rate! :D

Eject Warp Plasma is a good one, but the diffence between I, II, and III are not that much different, so just put it where there's nothing better.

My two EC's.

For PVE using 3 piece borg, probably. For PVP not at all.

In PVE I'd prefer Aux2Stru over RSP on a sci ship but's only because an Aux based heal and DR buff every 15 seconds really helps keep that weak hull healthy. For PVP I'd either be in an escort where RSP is much handier or a cruiser where having RSP and Aux2Str is just good sense.

If you're flying an Atrox or Tholian running EPtS1, RSP1, Aux2Str2 would probably give you the best of both worlds even if I'd prefer a higher EPtS.

P.S. Eject Warp Plasma and Gravity well are a nice combo for a nimble sci ship to abuse.

I dont use the Three Piece borg set up. If anything the gear i swap between is Aegis, Maco and Omega. By that I mean I am using the full Aegis, or Full Maco or Full Omega
