Joined Trill Sci - how should I respec for Offense

I want to maximize offence so how should i respec my Joind trill Sci toon

Also What Boffs should I use in the Oddy sci

and what boff powers should I have

Next month we are getting the Vesta sci which will be a much more dps oriented sci ship with dual heavy cannons up front(most likely from what the dev`s have said) so of course that will change from the oddy layout

Thanks

You dont really, if you are running a Sci either you invent on science skill meaning Tactical is going to take a hit or you dont and so you are pretty much a Tac speced that obvious cannot train.

Without knowing the Vesta BO layout I cannot say anything, however your captain does not need to be respec since the Vesta is still a science ship and so your science powers will affect the Vesta performance on that role, your GWs, VM and TRs will be more effective depending on your Captain skills, offensive power is always dependent on BOFFs but without seeing what the Vesta can actually do any option will be a shoot in the dark.

Ultimately depends on your view of "offense" and build.

I usually shoot for 3's across the board with a few "key" omissions (Starship Threat, Starship Stealth, attack patterns). This usually leaves me with enough points to hit 6 in 3-4 skills per level.

Being that 2 of these 6s go into science skills, that leaves only 1-2 other skills for me to put the 6s on...

So, being that I believe that survival with meager DPS is ultimately greater than spike then death, I put a lot of my 6s into "survival" skills like hull, shield performance, the various power levels, etc. and toss leftovers into accuracy and bonus critting...

However, if the BOff layout supports it, I can definitely see much value from going 6s in most tactical and Science skills and 3's in the engineering category.

Cannons on the Vesta, a sci-ship, has always interested me.

One of a sci-ships inherent abilities has always been sub-system targetting - an ability facilitated by utilising beam arrays.

However, one of the Vesta's selling points is it's ability to use cannons. So this can mean two things. 1: that the sub-system targetting will be either dropped or inactive, due to the use of cannons, on the Vesta or 2: subsystem targeting will be enabled on the Vesta and will be achievable using cannons.

Eitherways - looking forward to this ship hitting the C-store and will have the Zen ready and waiting (though putting my Wells class in mothballs will be painfull!).

There is really nothing stopping someone from putting a single beam or well in the case of the Vesta a DBB on a ship if they want to use SST.

If you want to maximize offense thn maybe you should check out the pvp forums for some cruiser builds.
