Second C-Store ship on same character

You cannot have more than one of your purchased C-Store ships on one character. I think that is a pity.

Most ships have a number of skins and you can also make different configurations with weapons, consoles and BOFFs. Since you can only play with one character and have only one ship active (the ship is actually your character with a special skin), I don't think it would be a bad thing if we could have more than one of your purchased ships on a character.

Anyway, even if you want to spend Zen to buy a second copy, it isn't possible. Not that I am interested in that option though.

Because ship purchases on the C-Store are account-wide, you wouldn't be able to purchase it again, because you can redeem it as many times as you want. However, because ships come with special consoles, and there's no way to redeem a ship without the consoles it provides, there isn't an elegant system to allow you two have two copies of the ship without duplicating unique consoles.

I definitely see your point though; if you like a certain ship, and want to deck out two different copies of the same ship, but with different gear or skins, there isn't any way to do that at the moment.

This isn't just C-Store ships, you cannot have two of the same ship on ANY character. You can, through the use of C-Store refits and/or purchases have two ships that look identical such as the assault cruiser and the assault cruiser refit, but you cannot have 2x Assault Cruiser or 2x Advanced Escort on a single character any more than you can have 2x Assault Cruiser Refit or 2x Multi-Vector Advanced escort on the same character.

Which is to say, again, that you can't.

You are right, it is not only C-Store ships. Still, I think, it is a pity. If you want to fly ship x as a beam boat and as a torpedoe boat, you have to reconfigure your setup or you create another character wich is an exact copy of the one you have and purchase the ship again.

Maybe I'm missing something here. There's an inventory to store different weapons, consoles or other items you may need to adapt to different situations. BOffs and DOFFs also can be changed quickly. I'm doing this all the time when changing between PvE and PvP setups and it's usually a matter of seconds, maybe a minute depending on the change.

Why would I want to go back to shipyard all the time to change ships when all this can be done on the move? Trip to Sol (with loading screen), Beam down (with loading screen), go to shipyard (with loading screen), change ships and back to space (with loading screen). Sorry, but that sounds way longer than just change items. And for ship skins, just change it when you are in the mood for it. EC are easy to get and costs are low.

It is more for the ship skin. I agree that consoles, weapons and Boffs are easy to configure on the fly and that is a good thing.

It is more a matter of a personal attitude I have towards how things work in a roleplaying game. A ship is like a character with skills, abbilities or talents. For game purpose. game mechanics it is great that we can easy reconfigure, but I wonder even with 24th century technology, if this would be really possible.

The Armitage is for me a different ship than the Zephyr for instance. Since I bought this ship, I would like to have the Armitage and the Zephyr for as long as I have free ships slots.
