Couple BoP console questions
1. Do you use the rcs for turn rate? Or is the natural turn rate more than enough and you put resistant consoles instead?
2. For sci am i stacking field generators? I have 2 and a stealth console. Should a ditch the stealth console and go three firld generators?
just my humble opinion:
don't waste console space on a rcs.
ditch the stealth console and go with shield regen.
consider the borg console too in an eng or sci slot.
i recommend a borg console on every ship regardless of which set you use.
Ps i never thought it possible but i live flyin the BoP.
It is possible to have so high a Cap on your shields that if they drop you may have issues getting them back up again without some seriuos heals.
My B'rel Retrofit is designed for a full torpedo load-out.
However, I do not see a need for an RCS console, as it already has one of the best turn rates.
I also do not bother with Stealth consoles, and this is on a ship with Enhanced Battle Cloak. With 6 skill points into Stealth and Aux at 118, I can park my BoP on a Sci officer's sci ship with 125 aux, and they still can't see me at 0km.
On my Fed's Tactical Escort Retrofit, I have no points in Stealth or consoles and have my aux set to 39/25. If I recall, I think I was spotted 2km away from the target...if that.
If someone uses a reveal ability, you can't resist it.
Or just Hi everyone.
I am a Bop-Commander for just a few weeks, maybe seven or eight.
Never ever i want fly something else!
So, there are some questions, i have and i hope, there are some people, that could help me.
My sweet little Boat is the Heghta-Class, my toon a tac.
My Weapon Setup:
Fore: 1x DHC, 2x DC, Quantumtorp
After: 3x Turrets
All Mk XII Borg, the Energy is Polaron
Tac: 3x blue MK XI Polaron damage
Eng: 2x blue MK XI Neutronium Alloy, 1x RCS
Science: 1x blue MK XI Field Gen (more shieldpower), 1x Plasmonic Leech, 1x Borg-Console
Shield: Honorguard MK XI
Engine: Honorguard MK XI
Other Sets are in the bank, but i dont know...i didnt seen the bonusdamage of the jemmy-set.
MK XII i managed only to get the Shields of HG and Omega till this time, and i diddnt find some datas about the new sets.
Weapon: All (Hit the 125)
Commander: Tac: TT1, HY2, CRF, ATP B
Lt: Tac : TT1, HY2
Lt Com: Eng : EPTS1, EPTS2, EJWP
Lt: Science : PH1, HE2
I played around with different ways and different styles, but till now there ist nothing, that makes me really happy with.
Projectile Doffs, The ones for Evasive Maneuvers, "TT" or "Prepare on Impact"...Maybe i have to take a deeper look on the exchange for Cannon-Doffs....doesnt seen one till now.
This is the point, where i need the advising at most, i guess.
I am playing for fun. And i am playing for free. Maybe there will be a time, where i spend some Money for Zen, but not at the moment. Till this time i didnt have a fleet and i didnt need it.
Where the Bop in Pve like stf is a bit of...how to say...useless, i managed the elites without problems, make my damage, fly arround, kill probes and so on.
Now, S7 Times, this may change, the bleedthrew of the borg is devastating, but i run elite infected and it works.
To be honest, the Bop is no Ship for this silly crapshooting of non-moving material.
The Bop is a PvP-Vessel. In my noobish Eyes it is THE Ship that bears the cross of the Klingon faction.
Its the Side of the Evil. The smelling, dirty Counterpart of White Knights known as Federation. They have the Zen-Ships, the Know-How-Science and the pure mass.
The KDF has nothing else their Experience, their Brains...and the Combat Cloak.
And this is an amazingly powerfull mix up.
So long, i am an pvp-fan^^
I am not good, thats something completly different, but i bear the wish to get better.
Till now my Heghta cloaks, searches for the right target (cruisers and escorts most of the time), rushes at them, buffs up and...alpha strikes it.
This works well most of the time in Kerrat. Take a Prey that is otherwise engaged and it will be pop up. Even if i am outnumbered...like most of the time.
If the enemy hit the TT-Button, i have a problem...but for what the one and only empire gave me the cloak?
And otherwise...for sure:
"Heghlu'meH QaQ jajvam!"
Thank you for reading this whole bunch, and more thanks, if you had an advice.
I have to apologize for my broken english and for Thread-Capturing also.
Broken English is not a problem. (*seriously, it's not)
and your setup SEEMS to be pretty good in terms of pre-season 7, which is to say, when having 3PBorg+HG shield was an advantage.
In the present, it's less effective than it has been in the past, but still workable.
However-you're driving a Bird of Prey-hull resists aren't as useful as boosting your shields-useful yes, just not AS useful.
I suggest you shift the Plas Leech or the Borg console to one of the Engineering spaces in place of one of the Neutroniums, and install another shield gennie in the sci spaces-you're a BoP, hull-tanking you AIN'T gonna do.
MOre important is Bridge officer and Duty officer setups-Duty officers can make a significant difference in your over-all performance depending on who's assigned 'on', and what bridge officer powers you have going..
with DC and DHC you're already restricted in your firing arc-you may consider swapping one or both of the DC's for DHC's, you're already locked in at 125 weps power, and you're an alpha-baby (which is to say, most of your setup ONLY WORKS on the first pass/Alpha strike). Pick up some weps batteries at Drozana, qo'nos, or DS9, and some shield batteries in case you didn't get them (the other guys) in your first pass.
B-Off layout should probably focus like this:
HYT-1, TT2, APO2
Attack patterns make you harder to tractor-not a small thing with all the Danoob spam in Ker'rat, the Hazard Emitters are nice if one of those little borg bastards pops you with their Plasma torps while you're working over your latest prey. CRF1 and 2 gives higher up-time, and High Yeild Torps are nice deliverables after you've knocked the shields down some on your target (and they're useable with widely-available Torp doffs).
Emergency to Shields and Transfer Shield STrength, run with a copy of Tac team, can really aggravate someone who's trying to drain your shields to expose bare hull, and two copies of TT are always nice to have-esp. since the cooldowns stagger and you can keep it going longer, and TT2 provides a small bonus to the damage you do from your weps.
suggest you go to the PvP forums here on this very site, and look up the following subjects:
